Open Cholecystectomy

Visit to OT 10, LUMHS Jamshoro: Observing Open Cholecystectomy

4th-year students from AL-Biruni IPRS visited OT 10, LUMHS Jamshoro, and observed an open cholecystectomy procedure for the first time.

Surgeons:
Dr Ahsan Leghari
Dr Rashid Suhrio

Procedure observed: Open cholecystectomy (traditional surgery to remove gall bladder via a larger incision).
Indications: Complicated gallstones or when laparoscopy isn't suitable

The experience enhanced students' understanding of surgical procedure.

Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy

4th-year students of DPT from AL-Biruni IPRS went to the OT-10 of Liaquat University of Medical and Health Sciences to observe a laparoscopic cholecystectomy procedure in the OT.
Procedure: Minimally invasive surgery to remove the gall bladder using a laparoscope and small incisions.
Indications: Gallstones, inflammation, or blockages.

Conducted an interactive Kinesiology Lab session for 1st semester students.
Topic: Introducing the fundamentals of Physiotherapy and Kinesiology, Exercise and mobility equipment, and an overview of electrotherapy modalities to build their foundational clinical knowledge and practical understanding.
