Today, the first-year students had a highly informative and practical learning experience during their hospital exposure. They were introduced to portable X-ray machines, gaining an understanding of their importance and the correct procedure for taking X-rays in critical and bedside situations. The students also learned about suctioning, including how negative pressure is created and used effectively to drain blood and secretions. In addition, they were familiarized with various hospital equipment, enhancing their knowledge of their functions and clinical use. A detailed exposure to sterilization machines helped them understand how surgical instruments are properly disinfected to ensure patient safety. Furthermore, students observed the post-operative process, learning how patients are shifted from the Operation Theatre (OT) to the recovery room, where vital signs are carefully monitored, and subsequently how patients are transferred safely to the ward. This visit greatly enriched their clinical understanding and strengthened the connection between theoretical knowledge and practical application.
