Desirable Qualification:

* Knowledge of surgery department equipment and instrumentation
* Secure and prepare all supplies required for surgical intervention and operation room
* Ensure the preparation and maintenance of the sterile field in OR
* Perform instrument counts prior to each procedure
* Prepare patient skin for surgical treatment
* Position and re-position patient during surgery
* Help monitor patients during surgery
* Provide supportive care during the pre-operative phase
* Perform scrub functions
* Collect and label specimens taken during surgical procedure
* Follow all federal, state and departmental safety procedures
* Maintain a sterile environment for the patient and surgical team before, during and after surgery
* Pass surgical instruments, medicine to the surgeon, cut sutures, apply dressings and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis
* Follow the instruction of consultant surgeon during surgery
* After surgery transports the patient to the recovery room and cleans the operating room for the next procedure.
* Report on and off duty at control desk
* Maintain bulletin board daily for notices and schedule changes regarding procedures
* Assist circulating nurse with care of the patient while in the room, providing nursing care to all patients of all ages (if required)
* Check daily to keep abreast of new changes occurring in the operating room
* Keep abreast of new techniques and procedures
* Understand and perform standardization of set-ups
* Economical use of supplies

Prerequisite
* Theatre technician certification from an accredited school or training program required
* 1+ years’ experience in a hospital or outpatient operating room
* Familiarity with all surgical instruments and equipment
* Working knowledge of sterile and aseptic techniques

* 2 years experience in a hospital environment or the equivalent experience.
* Installs, maintains and repairs the electrical power distribution systems, expert level knowledge of ATS Panels, Power Factor, APC UPS, Generator, Air Conditioning System, Networking, CCTV and Bio Medical Equipment etc.
* Ability to test and diagnose system malfunctions on electrical equipment; repairs or replaces defective parts as necessary
* Performs scheduled preventive maintenance, logging, inspections and repairs to electrical and biomedical equipment within established codes
* Cooperates with supervisors, department heads and works well with staff. Complies with all electrical safety codes and standard protocols.
