*Plantar Fasciitis*

Plantar-fasciitis is inflammation of the thick band of tissue (also called a fascia) at the bottom of your foot that runs from your heel to your toes.
Doctors once thought bony growths called heel spurs brought on the pain. Now they believe that heel spurs are the result -- not the cause -- of plantar fasciitis.

*Symptoms of Plantar Fasciitis*

🔶Plantar fasciitis causes pain in your heel. It’s usually worse when you take your first steps in the morning or after you’ve been sitting for a long time. It tends to feel better with activity but worsens again after you spend a long time on your feet.

*Plantar Fasciitis Causes and Risk Factors*
You are at risk if you

🔺Are female

🔺Are 40 to 60 years old

🔺Are obese

🔺Have flat feet or high arches

🔺Have tight Achilles tendons, or “heel cords”

🔺Have an unusual walk or foot position

🔺Often wear high-heeled shoes

🔺Spend many hours standing each day

🔺Wear worn-out shoes with thin soles

*Physical Therapy Management*

The condition can be disabling if not appropriately managed.

⭕Patients need to be told that the symptoms may take weeks or even months to improve (depending on circumstances of injury).

⭕To follow the advice given eg rest from aggravating activities initially, ice, stretch.

⭕Be aware of the importance of a home exercise plan

⭕Common treatments include: stretching and strengthening of the gastrocnemius/soleus/plantar fascia; orthotics; ultrasound; iontophoresis; night splints and joint mobilization/manipulation

Very often, headache types vary according to location. I have found the most common ones.
Depending on that place where your head hurts the most, it might mean you are on the verge of developing a serious health problem.

A Colles' fracture is a type of fracture of the distal forearm in which the broken end of the radius is bent backwards
Symptoms may include pain, swelling, deformity, and bruising.
Complications may include damage to the median nerve

A Smith's fracture, is a fracture of the distal radius. It is caused by a direct blow to the dorsal forearm or falling onto flexed wrists, as opposed to a Colles' fracture which occurs as a result of falling onto wrists in extension. Smith's fractures are less common than Colles' fractures.
