On Friday last week, I had the joy of spending time (albeit over Zoom) with an extraordinary group of students at the Youth Development Center, Hashoo Hunar in Gilgit Baltistan, under the Hashoo Foundation.
What was meant to be a talk became a conversation. I shared my journey in dermatology, the path to founding my own practice, the choices, the lessons—and in return, I was met with curiosity, warmth, and such thoughtful questions. It was an incredibly interactive session filled with honest dialogue, bright ideas, giggles, and moments of shared laughter that made the distance between us feel nonexistent. There is something deeply hopeful about engaging with young minds who are eager to learn, to question, and to imagine what’s possible for themselves. Spaces like Hashoo Hunar remind you that skill-building is not just about employability—it’s about confidence, agency, and belief.
My heartfelt thanks to Faisal Ali, Khalida, Naik Bano, and Maliha for organizing this session so seamlessly, and for the care and intention they bring to their work. And sincere appreciation to the Hashoo Foundation for the meaningful, consistent work they continue to do in empowering youth through skills, opportunity, and purpose. ❤️
