🎗️ HPV Vaccine: Protect Against Cervical Cancer

For the first time in Pakistan, a nationwide HPV vaccination campaign will take place from 15th to 27th September in Punjab, Sindh, Islamabad & AJK.

✅ Target Group: Girls aged 9 to 14 years

✅ Purpose: Prevent Cervical Cancer — a leading cause of cancer-related deaths in women

✅ Vaccine: Safe, effective, and widely used in developed countries

Why it matters:

Cervical cancer is preventable, yet many women in Pakistan are diagnosed too late due to lack of awareness and screening. This vaccine offers lifesaving protection — let’s not miss this opportunity.

🌸 I strongly encourage all parents to get their daughters and younger sisters vaccinated.

Let’s work together to raise awareness and protect the future of our girls.

Completed 6-Month Online Course on Nutrition in Premature Babies
Organised by: European Foundation for the Care of Newborn Infants (EFCNI)
Some key takeaways from this enriching course:

1️⃣ Early Nutrition is Critical
The first 1000 days — especially the immediate postnatal period — play a vital role in shaping long-term neurodevelopment and metabolic health in preterm infants.

2️⃣ Mother’s Own Milk is Best
It remains the gold standard* in preterm nutrition, offering unmatched protection and developmental benefits.

3️⃣ Start Feeds Early & Ensure Adequate Caloric Intake
Begin enteral feeding as soon as possible, preferably with mother’s milk. Avoid unnecessary delays. Ensure adequate macronutrient intake — especially protein — targeting 110–130 kcal/kg/day

4️⃣ Monitor Growth Closely
Assess growth and nutritional status regularly in the NICU and post-discharge. Intervene early to ensure optimal outcomes.
Excited to implement these insights in our care of preterm babies and work toward improving their short- and long-term health outcomes.
