MEASLES:-
is a viral infection caused by RNA paramyxovirus through respiratory droplets
SIGNS AND SYMPTOMS:-
1•cough
2•coryza
3•conjuctivitis
4.Koplik’s spot (Hall mark feature)
It is whitish spots which are surrounded by erythema located on buccal mucosa
5.Maculopapular rashes that start from behind the head and spread downward
COMPLICATIONS:-
1•Encephalitis (most threatening)
2•otitis media
3•pneumonia
MANAGEMENT
1•supportive
2•vitamin A
3•immunoglobulin
Prevention:
Give MMR vaccine at 12-15 months after birth
