Common symptoms of sacroiliac joint dysfunction include localised pain to the buttocks region. This will generally be on one side and will travel down the side of your tailbone. Pain can radiate from the buttocks and down the side of the leg (or into your pelvis, sc***um, l***a or p***s). Aggravating activities can include arching your back, twisting in bed, long car journeys, walking up hills and going down stairs. A physiotherapist skilled in the area of lumbopelvic and hip pain can differentiate sacroiliac pain from other areas that can refer to the region, including the lower back and hip. Your physiotherapist can then design a comprehensive plan of manual therapy to the pelvis and surrounding joints and muscles as needed. for sacroiliac joint dysfunction.

Heat or Ice??

Heat is usually recommended for muscle strains and to get relief from pain because it increases the blood flow, which further facilitates the elimination of an important lactic acid build up. On the other hand, cold reduces swelling, pain and inflammations. Application of ice is recommended immediately after an injury occurred and that too only for a few days.

Craving chocolate this Easter. For a chocolate fix with a healthy dose of fruit, dip whole strawberries, grapes, or banana slices in melted chocolate. For an added crunch, roll the fruit in chopped nuts (we like almonds, walnuts, pecans, and pistachios).

Body awareness is key to staying fit, healthy, and injury-free. If you tend to ignore your small aches and pains and push through your run, you’ll likely end up with an injury sooner or later. The body changes as you age. Honouring that process and rolling with the changes is important. Listening to the body is the most important tool you have for keeping your body healthy and strong. If you have suffered any injury, please contact us to see if we can help.

Without knowing too much, it can seem physios, chiros and osteos practice much the same thing. But scratch the surface and you'll found claims and counter-claims about which method is most likely to work for you.

This morning the Pain Revolution tour kicked off in Australia...!!!

'We are going to change the world, one town at the time' says Professor Lorimer Moseley, APA member and ride organiser.
This 870-kilometre cycle from Melbourne to Adelaide will take place over the next seven days, stopping at regional centres to discuss how Australians living with persistent pain cope and what we can learn from them—and do to support them.

Everyone can practice this in his/her own country.

Dr Chris van Tulleken knows drugs save lives, but he believes Britain's prescription drug binge is dangerous. To find solutions, he takes over part of a busy GP surgery in East London to try and...
