Rehab Initiative (RI) and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) joined hands to host a special visit for the spouses of representatives from various diplomatic missions in Pakistan on 25th April' 2024.
The event, held at the Rehab Initiative headquarters, welcomed esteemed guests from Belgium, Japan, Denmark, Thailand, and Jordan on Thursday.

The primary objective of the event was to showcase the collaborative efforts between ICRC and Rehab Initiative in enhancing the quality of physical rehabilitation services across Pakistan. Participants were given the unique opportunity to witness firsthand the transformative impact of these initiatives on persons with disabilities and the broader community.

For over four decades, the ICRC has been at the forefront of the Physical Rehabilitation Programme (PRP), supporting and empowering people with disabilities in Pakistan. The event guests were warmly received by Chairman of RI, Dr. Bakht Sarwar, Mr. Ahmad AL-MOSA, Manager of ICRC's PRP program in Pakistan, Chief Executive Officer of RI Mr. Sirajul Haq Ghouri, alongside their dedicated staff.

Reflecting on the journey of the physical rehabilitation program, Dr. Bakht Sarwar and Mr. Ahmad AL-MOSA expressed their gratitude, stating, "Our partnership with organizations such as Rehab Initiative has made a significant difference in improving access to top-tier rehabilitation services for people with disabilities, facilitating their integration into society."

With a mission to enhance mobility and foster active participation in society, the RI has positively impacted the lives of over 154,665 individuals in the past decade alone.

Ms. Asyia, Reporter BBC, visited the Rehab Initiative today. She was exposed to the novel work of RI. She will write case studies of some of the beneficiaries of specialised support given by RI. She will again visit with her media team to write an article on RI for BBC.

The Chairman, Board of Directors and C.E.O, BRSP, visited the Rehab Initiative on 20th Dec' 23. They acknowledged the efforts of ICRC and Rehab Initiative in general. Both organizations looked for collaboration in Baluchistan to address disability and looked forward to having resource mobilization for the oppressed and marginalized communities of the province.

Mr. Roomi Hayat, Chief Executive Officer, Institute of Rural Management, visited the Rehab Initiative on 18th Dec' 23. He expressed his profound feelings on the setup and novel working of RI and agreed on future collaboration.

Dr. Muhammad Imran, C.E.O., ACE Institute of Medical and Emerging Sciences, and National Institute of Health Professional Studies visited RI on 15th Dec' 23. We agreed upon collaborating in the future and agreed to start a diploma course for Technicians in the field of Prosthetics and orthotics at our new premises. We also agreed to arrange practicum for their students from its faculty from Lahore. RI will offer these courses under the charter of their university. Hope this venture gonna go well in the future.

"Another great training in the books! International Committee of the Red Cross Pakistan and Global Clubfoot Initiative just completed a 4-day advanced training on Ponseti management for clubfoot. This training was hosted and organized by Rehab Initiative. Doctors and clinicians from ICRC-supported programs & other clubfoot care providers attended and gained valuable knowledge. Here's to continuing our efforts in making a positive impact on the lives of children with Clubfoot and their families.

Successfully conducted 05-days training on KNEE ANKLE FOOT ORTHOSIS (KAFO) in PIPOS, Peshawar from 28th November to 2nd December 2022. This training was organized by ICRC in Collaboration With Rehab Initiative (RI) and PIPOS.

MNA Ms Zille Huma visited Rehab Initiative facility along with CEO CHEF International and Director Rehab Initiative. Mr. Sohail Ayaz. She appreciated the comprehensive physical rehabilitation facilities of the Center and ensure to sensetise and engage government stakeholders on physical rehabilitation.
