𝙎𝙩𝙧𝙚𝙣𝙜𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙣𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝘾𝙤𝙢𝙢𝙪𝙣𝙞𝙩𝙮 𝙀𝙣𝙜𝙖𝙜𝙚𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙃𝙋𝙑 𝙑𝙖𝙘𝙘𝙞𝙣𝙚 𝙍𝙤𝙪𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙞𝙯𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙞𝙣 𝘼𝙅𝙆
MERF-Medical Emergency Resilience Foundation organized a two day workshop on Community Engagement, Risk Communication and Social & Behavior Change Communication (SBCC) to support the routinization of the HPV vaccine in districts of Azad Jammu and Kashmir AJK.
The session brought together stakeholders, health professionals, community representatives, and partner organizations to strengthen strategies that build community trust, improve risk communication, and promote informed decision making about HPV vaccination.
The workshop focused on practical approaches to:
• Strengthen community engagement for immunization programs
• Address vaccine related concerns through effective risk communication
• Apply SBCC strategies to improve vaccine acceptance and demand
• Support the successful integration of the HPV vaccine into routine immunization services
This initiative is part of a broader effort to protect adolescents from Human Papillomavirus (HPV) causing cervical cancer, through sustained immunization efforts.
The project is supported by Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance, implemented in close coordination with the AJK Expanded Programme on Immunization EPI AJK, and in collaboration with local partners Community Services Program - CSP and Aiming Change for Tomorrow - ACT
Through collaborative learning and partnership, stakeholders reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening immunization systems and safeguarding the health of future generations in AJK.
