Five-Day Training Programme for Intern Nurses kicks off at MMC
ND says educative session arranged to equip participants with essential skills to deliver safe, high-quality care

A five-day training session designed to enhance the clinical skills and knowledge of intern nurses, as well as to reinforce their roles and responsibilities, begun at Haider Hall here on Monday.
The training is being conducted by Nursing Director (ND) Barkatullah Khan and master trainer and infection control nurse Noor Zada. A total of 130 intern nurses are participating in this educational session.
In his opening remarks, ND MMC Barkatullah Khan stated that the initiative aims to equip participants with the expertise necessary to deliver safe, high-quality patient care and ensure they are well-prepared to meet the demands of their profession.
He said that the training is arranged to enhance the clinical skills and knowledge of intern nurses, providing them with practical expertise to maintain high standards of patient care and safety.
The ND highlighted that the initiative will bridges the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application, preparing intern nurses to handle real-world challenges effectively.
He delivered an engaging lecture on Therapeutic Communication, stressing its significance in building effective nurse-patient relationships. He underscored the importance of empathy, active listening and clear communication in improving patient outcomes and fostering trust in healthcare settings.
Describing nursing as a highly responsible profession, he urged participants to demonstrate full commitment, a sense of responsibility and dedication. He encouraged them to avail the opportunity to acquire new skills to excel during their internship at the hospital.
Following the introduction, Noor Zada, a master trainer and infection control specialist, delivered a detailed presentation on Infection Control. The session covered essential topics such as cleaning, disinfection, sterilization and care bundles for hospital-acquired infections, which are critical in preventing healthcare-associated infections. Noor Zada provided practical insights into best practices for maintaining a sterile environment, the proper use of disinfectants and the importance of adhering to infection control protocols in clinical settings.
