My lunch right now . As a Bariatric surgeon I should also practice what I preach to all of you who have undergone MGB procedure or want to lose weight through exercise and diet alone . Dr DrR Rutledge sir your comments
Prioritise your dietary sources away from processed foods and eat more from plant source , fruits and then dairy products without processing and less from other animal sources .
One more tip use small capacity bowls or cups as shown in this video for avoiding large servings . This will also help you to eat less even if it is healthy . Amount and type of food , both matter in achieving weight loss .

Weight loss journey after MGB.
This person weighed 226 kg when he underwent Laparoscopic Mini Gastric Bypass. In 6 months post op he has lost 76 kg and is now 150 kg with greatly improved quality of life and before surgery he could walk 200-300 meters and now he routinely walks 5 kilometer in a day .

More than 2 years after LSG 172 kg to 107 kg from 53 BMI to 31 BMI
Before operation poorly controlled diabetes with HbA1C above 10 mg/dl that was resistant to Insulin therapy .
Since surgery did not take medicines for Diabetes . Survived corona infection due to increased immunity as obesity and diabetes together decrease the probability of survival after COVID19 infection .
He has lost 75% excess body weight with great improvement in Quality of life ( QOL) with complete resolution of Diabetes .

At 4th SASMBS , Hilton , Jeddah , Saudi Arabia presenting my experience with MGB in super obesity at PIMS .
A young man greeted me while I was waiting in the airport lounge , could not recognise him. He had to tell me who he was and I was just looking at him trying to guess who he is . I did his LSG in 2018.
He was 135 kg pre op now he is 80kg. From 45 BMI to 27 in thirteen months .

My humble contribution and honor to be part of this expert team’s academic work with gratitude to Dr Robert Rutledge for including my name as co author with greats of OAGB-MGB in this publication in Obesity Surgery . The commentary emphasizes that there is no direct causality of cancer after MGB-OAGB and recommends getting a surgeon trained first to perform MGB-OAGB and also Peri operative role of endoscopy in patients with reflux symptoms .
