Founded in 2003 as the 'Field of Dreams', SoLF has nurtured numerous social projects and change-makers ever since. In 2012, SoLF was re-launched with the tagline 'Growing Human Capital' and identified 'Citizenship & Peace', 'Awareness & Training' and 'Health & Livelihood' as its areas of focus. On this World Environment Day, we reflect on the resilience witnessed during SHAMS Phase 1 in 2022, when we conducted impactful sessions in the remotest flood-affected areas of Balochistan and Sindh.

Amidst devastating floods, SHAMS engaged over 10,000 individuals, focusing on mental health awareness and self-care in deeply affected communities. These sessions became lifelines, promoting healing and connection for displaced families. A glimpse into the theatre performances under the SHAMS programme in Muzaffarabad, Rawalpindi, and Islamabad—brought to life by Tehrik-e-Niswan to spark dialogue on adolescent mental health.

Through storytelling and emotion, these performances created safe spaces for adolescents and caregivers to reflect, relate, and open up about their inner struggles. In Islamabad, the presence of the UNICEF Pakistan team added to the energy, witnessing firsthand how art can break stigma and inspire empathy in young minds.
