Dr Rafat Jan, along with the National Leadership, including the Director General Nursing (DGNs) of Sindh, Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, and Balochistan, the Principal of Multan, International Confederation of Midwives's Board Member of EMRO region and Board Members of Midwifery Association of Pakistan - MAP, disseminated Midwives Alliance of Asia (MAA) initiatives. She provided a comprehensive briefing about the mission and vision as well as declaration of MAA, highlighting its role in strengthening midwifery practices across the region. The DGNs, instrumental in guiding nursing and midwifery education and practice in their respective regions, were actively engaged in discussions on fostering collaboration.

The event kicked off with inspiring speeches from partners, highlighting key midwifery initiatives in Pakistan. Delegations from 10 countries across Asia—including Afghanistan, Bahrain, Bangladesh, Dubai, Indonesia, Iran, Nepal, Pakistan, the Philippines, the UK, and Yemen—along with MAP board members, have come together to advance midwifery practices and foster meaningful collaboration.
