Driving Change in IPC Practices and Behavioral Transformation at Federal Government Polyclinic, Islamabad
Thrilled to share some exciting progress! At FGPC, we are witnessing a remarkable behavioral shift among healthcare workers in Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) practices—a testament to the power of structured interventions and accountability.
This journey wouldn’t have been possible without the unwavering support of Dr. Niaz, AED FGPC, who has provided us with the encouragement needed for training and implementation of IPC measures. His open approach has been instrumental in driving this change.
With Indus Hospital & Health Network (IHHN) leading the way, FGPC has been established as a Center of Excellence for IPC in Islamabad through:

Through the tireless efforts of IHHN and Dr. Niaz, FGPC is now developing an IPC policy and conducting surveillance of IPC practices—a major milestone towards institutionalizing best practices.

A Youth Champion (YC) session was recently conducted at the PHA Officer Colony on Kuri Road to raise awareness and sensitize the community on the important issue of Infection Prevention. The session highlighted the crucial role of youth journalism in spreading awareness and fostering community engagement around public health issues. By empowering young people with knowledge and tools, the session aimed to enhance their ability to educate and influence others in their communities, thereby contributing to better health practices and infection prevention.
