Shifa Tameer-e-Millat University is determined to provide the best possible education and knowledge in different areas of health sciences. D) is offered by the Shifa College of Pharmaceutical Sciences (a constituent unit of the Shifa Tameer-e-Millat University), and is a five years professional degree program after F.Sc / A level. The curriculum is integrated and contextual in nature and designed precisely in line with the recommendations of the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE, USA), Objective Based Education (OBE), Competency Based Education (CBE), Pharmacy Council of Pakistan (PCP), Higher Education Commission (HEC) and the latest trends being followed in the various developed countries of the world. During the past 5 decades the profession of Pharmacy has attained great importance and significance, both nationally and internationally for ensuring the safe, effective and rational use of drugs, owing to the unprecedented demand of qualified pharmacist in various sectors like hospital pharmacy, industrial pharmacy, retail pharmacy and regulatory agencies. Pharmacists play a vital role in improving patient care through the medication and information they provide. In a survey recently conducted it is the second largest health profession in the United States. The facility developed in the SCPS-STMU includes laboratories for all domains of pharmaceutical sciences, lecture halls which are all equipped with latest audio visual aids, dedicated library, IT resource center, animal house, and botanical garden etc. The new facility has been inspected and granted accreditation/recognition by the Pharmacy Council of Pakistan (PCP). Three batches of Pharm.D have graduated and are serving the community and industrial needs of the patients and country respectively.

The Shifa College of Pharmaceutical Sciences (SCPS), a constituent college of Shifa Tameer-e-Millat University (STMU), has officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with The Human Resource International (THRI) to establish a strategic partnership that empowers students' growth and connects them with a wide network of opportunities. Led by the vision of Prof. Dr. Tausif A. Rajput (Dean FPAHS) and Salman Khan (Founder of THRI), this collaboration is set to enhance student learning and contribute to the development of practice-ready pharmacists.

Exploring Innovation & Entrepreneurship at NSTP!
Our senior year students from Shifa Tameer-e-Millat University, Shifa College of Pharmaceutical Sciences had the incredible opportunity to visit the National Science & Technology Park (NSTP), Islamabad, Pakistan’s first fully integrated innovation ecosystem.
Through the Hatch 8 Pre-Incubation Programme, students gained valuable insights into entrepreneurship and innovation, business model development, pitching and investor readiness, leadership, and soft skills.
This visit connected our future pharmacists with a thriving network of entrepreneurs, mentors, and industry leaders and inspired them to transform ideas into impactful solutions for healthcare and beyond. We thank the NSTP team for hosting our students and for their commitment to building Pakistan’s knowledge economy.

Shifa College of Pharmaceutical Sciences Celebrates Pakistan Independence Day 2025 – “Marqaa-e-Haq”

The Shifa Student Council (SSC) of Shifa College of Pharmaceutical Sciences (SCPS) organized an exceptional celebration of Pakistan’s 78th Independence Day, under the theme “Marqaa-e-Haq.”
The event began with emotionally stirring documentaries showcasing Pakistan’s journey and sacrifices, followed by melodious national songs that filled the venue with patriotic spirit.
Thought-provoking debates in both Urdu and English brought an intellectually stimulating touch, while a heartfelt cake-cutting ceremony symbolized unity and pride.
Adding a lively element, friendly competitions in Ludo, Carrom, and Chess brought students together in an atmosphere of camaraderie and sportsmanship.
Faculty members not only attended but actively participated, making the celebration even more engaging. With students from across all departments of STMU present, the event strengthened community engagement and interdepartmental bonds.
The day concluded with the distribution of certificates to all winners and runners-up, marking a perfect end to a memorable celebration filled with patriotism, joy, and unity.

On July 17th, 2025, Shifa College of Pharmaceutical Sciences collaborated with two illustrious speakers to provide an excellent opportunity for students to broaden their horizons and for future pharmacists to pave a future for themselves in the healthcare sector.

Titled ”Global Career Pathways for Pharm-D Graduates” the event particularly addressed career counselling on international opportunities for pharmacy graduates. The event features highly accomplished guests, namely Dr. Muhammad Junaid Farrukh, a pharmacist and aspiring academic, and Dr. Afifa Saghir, a registered pharmacist in both Pakistan and Australia with over 10 years of experience in the field.

Through this beneficial and enjoyable event, students were able to understand trends in the global market, network with industry leaders and peers, receive strategic advice for career development, and explore global opportunities.

Shifa College of Pharmaceutical Sciences looks forward to more such sessions in the future to for substantial academic and practical advancement among its students.

We are thrilled to share that Dr. Tanya Waseem, Lecturer and PhD Scholar at SCPS, has secured a prestigious Research Placement at King’s College London (KCL), UK under the IRSIP Fellowship Program funded by HEC Pakistan.

She is the first PhD student from SCPS to achieve this incredible milestone! 🌍✨

As part of her PhD in Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Dr. Tanya will be conducting advanced research on:

“Synthesis, Characterization, and Biological Evaluation of Mercaptobenzimidazole Derivatives,” focusing on novel therapeutic strategies for diabetes through oxidative and inflammatory pathway modulation.

This international collaboration reflects SCPS’s strong commitment to global research excellence and scientific innovation. 🧪📚

Our Story

Shifa College of Pharmaceutical Sciences (SCPS) is an academic unit of the Faculty of Pharmaceutical and Allied Health Sciences and a constituent college of Shifa Tameer-e-Millat University (STMU) which is an HEC recognized, federally chartered University. Since its inception in 2014, SCPS, has been imparting state-of-the-art education and training facilities in pharmaceutical sciences. It also bears the unique distinction of being the only national pharmacy institute affiliated with a Joint Commission International, USA accredited hospital; the Shifa International Hospitals Ltd., Islamabad. Located in the heart of the national capital, SCPS is well-positioned to become an innovative center focused on medicine and health that will bring education, diagnostics, treatment, research, and commercial applications together.

The Curriculum at SCPS has been designed incorporating the requirements of Pharmacy Council of Pakistan (P*P) and the latest development taking place in the field of pharmacy globally. Our academic program is accredited by the Pharmacy Council of Pakistan (P*P), Academic Council of STMU and the Higher Education Commission (HEC). We will make every effort to create an excellent teaching learning environment and see that the students will be able to unfold their potential, closely interact with the faculty and visiting scientist from the pharmaceutical industry time to time and participate actively in various extracurricular activities.

Pharmacy plays a crucial role in the health care, and drug delivery system of a country. Pakistan needs highly competent pharmacy professionals to meet the challenges of 21st century. Keeping in view this perspective, we are determined to prepare pharmacy graduates who can play an effective role in the rational use of drugs, adverse drugs action monitoring, safe and effective drug delivery system, proper storage of drugs, pharmaceutical management and research & development.

Pharmacists play a vital role in the health of their communities in a variety of settings including hospitals, long-term care facilities, hospital pharmacies, community pharmacies, production facilities, research & development, regulatory agencies and within the pharmaceutical industry.
