During the past 5 decades the profession of Pharmacy has attained great importance and significance, both nationally and internationally for ensuring the safe, effective and rational use of drugs, owing to the unprecedented demand of qualified pharmacist in various sectors like hospital pharmacy, industrial pharmacy, retail pharmacy and regulatory agencies. Pharmacists play a vital role in improving patient care through the medication and information they provide. In a survey recently conducted it is the second largest health profession in the United States. The facility developed in the SCPS-STMU includes laboratories for all domains of pharmaceutical sciences, lecture halls which are all equipped with latest audio visual aids, dedicated library, IT resource center, animal house, and botanical garden etc. The new facility has been inspected and granted accreditation/recognition by the Pharmacy Council of Pakistan (PCP). Three batches of Pharm.D have graduated and are serving the community and industrial needs of the patients and country respectively.

We see, we hear; we stand with Kashmir!

Shifa College of Pharmaceutical Sciences observed Kashmir Day on 3rd February 2026, with an emotional congregation to express solidarity with our Kashmiri brothers and sisters. Students delivered moving speeches, while student artwork and an E-Poster competition beautifully showcased creativity and conviction.

SCPS students also participated in a solidarity walk, reinforcing our collective voice for justice and peace. Though Kashmir may seem distant, it lives within our hearts.

5th February stands as a reminder of the strength, resilience, and unwavering spirit of the people of Kashmir. At SCPS, we remember, we support, and we stand united!

The Orientation Session for newly admitted M.Phil students was held on 20th January, marking the start of an exciting academic journey. Insightful briefings by the Dean FPAHS, Chief Pharmaceutical Officer, and supervisors highlighted the strengths of SCPS, its vibrant research culture, and diverse postgraduate programs.

The Advisor Student Affairs and Coordinator Postgraduate Programs then briefed the students on semester guidelines, program planning, and academic progression.

The interactive sessions familiarized students with program structures, research opportunities, and supervisory support, leaving them motivated and well-prepared to begin their research careers.

Shifa College of Pharmaceutical Sciences proudly hosted the Pharmacy Council of Pakistan (P*P) for the renewal of its program accreditation, which concluded with exceptional appreciation from the inspection team. The Council commended SCPS for its academic rigor, effective governance, infrastructure, and robust quality assurance systems, and acknowledged the College as a potential resource and reference institution for national capacity-building initiatives.

Notably, the Council’s direct interaction with students further validated the academic excellence, clarity of learning outcomes, and overall performance of the program, reflecting the strength and coherence of the curriculum in practice. This recognition aligns with SCPS’s achievement of the Times Higher Education Award 2025 for Best Teaching and Learning Strategy of the Year, reinforcing the institution’s commitment to innovative and outcome-driven education.

Our Story

Shifa College of Pharmaceutical Sciences (SCPS) is an academic unit of the Faculty of Pharmaceutical and Allied Health Sciences and a constituent college of Shifa Tameer-e-Millat University (STMU) which is an HEC recognized, federally chartered University. Since its inception in 2014, SCPS, has been imparting state-of-the-art education and training facilities in pharmaceutical sciences. It also bears the unique distinction of being the only national pharmacy institute affiliated with a Joint Commission International, USA accredited hospital; the Shifa International Hospitals Ltd., Islamabad. Located in the heart of the national capital, SCPS is well-positioned to become an innovative center focused on medicine and health that will bring education, diagnostics, treatment, research, and commercial applications together.

The Curriculum at SCPS has been designed incorporating the requirements of Pharmacy Council of Pakistan (P*P) and the latest development taking place in the field of pharmacy globally. Our academic program is accredited by the Pharmacy Council of Pakistan (P*P), Academic Council of STMU and the Higher Education Commission (HEC). We will make every effort to create an excellent teaching learning environment and see that the students will be able to unfold their potential, closely interact with the faculty and visiting scientist from the pharmaceutical industry time to time and participate actively in various extracurricular activities.

Pharmacy plays a crucial role in the health care, and drug delivery system of a country. Pakistan needs highly competent pharmacy professionals to meet the challenges of 21st century. Keeping in view this perspective, we are determined to prepare pharmacy graduates who can play an effective role in the rational use of drugs, adverse drugs action monitoring, safe and effective drug delivery system, proper storage of drugs, pharmaceutical management and research & development.

Pharmacists play a vital role in the health of their communities in a variety of settings including hospitals, long-term care facilities, hospital pharmacies, community pharmacies, production facilities, research & development, regulatory agencies and within the pharmaceutical industry.
