Dear All,

My 1.5 years son affected from CNS Type 1 and is having a mild kernicterius is having sleep difficulty problem. I tried so many things, but he is sleeping well with mother, but as soon as you put him in PT he gets awake. Can anyone faced or is facing same problem. Guidance requested.

There are two types of Criger Najjar Syndrome.

In type 1, a patient has to rely on Photo therapy for about 12 hours per day.

In type 2, phonobarbital is effective in managing the enzyme deficiency, but in some cases photo therapy is also needed in type 2.

In both types Bilirubin level rises in the period of sickness, fasting and surgery and extreme care should be taken.
