Taking a significant stride towards strengthening global healthcare collaborations, Dr. Akbar Niazi Teaching Hospital (ANTH) hosted a mission from the World Health Organization (WHO) ) Eastern Mediterranean Regional Office (EMRO).
The mission's visit was part of a strategic initiative to implement global cancer initiatives within Pakistan.
The distinguished mission team included Dr. Lamia Mahmood, Regional Adviser for Noncommunicable Disease Prevention; and Dr. Giuseppe Troisi, Technical Officer (Cancer Control), Noncommunicable Disease Prevention, UHC/NMH, WHO Regional Office for the Eastern Mediterranean.
During the visit, the delegation toured ANTH’s specialized departments, including Oncology, Oncological Surgery, Diagnostics, One Stop Breast Clinic, Pediatrics, and the Bone Marrow Transplantation Unit.
The mission provided an opportunity for our Heads of Departments (HoDs) and their respective teams to offer brief, expert insights into the advanced services and clinical care provided at ANTH. The delegation’s visit highlighted the hospital’s commitment to aligning with international standards in cancer control and noncommunicable disease prevention.
