An inguinal hernia containing the cecum, often along with the appendix, is called an Amyand's hernia. This rare type of inguinal hernia is named after Claude Amyand, the surgeon who first described it. While typically found on the right side due to the appendix's normal location, left-sided Amyand's hernias are exceptionally rare and can occur in cases of mobile cecum or intestinal malrotation.
