Anterior pelvic tilt (APT) is a postural condition where the front of the pelvis tilts downward, and the back of the pelvis rises. This causes an exaggerated curvature in the lower back (lordosis). APT can lead to discomfort, poor posture, and potential muscle imbalances.Causes: • Prolonged sitting • Weak abdominal and gluteal muscles • Tight hip flexors and lower back muscles • Poor posture habitsSymptoms: • Lower back pain • Hip or knee discomfort • Visible anterior tilt of the pelvis • Protruding stomach due to the forward tiltExercises to correct APT:1. Strengthening glutes and hamstrings: • Glute bridges, hip thrusts2. Core strengthening: • Planks, dead bugs, and abdominal bracing3. Stretching tight hip flexors: • Hip flexor stretches, lunge stretches4. Correcting posture habits: • Being mindful of standing and sitting positions, keeping a neutral spineFocusing on balancing weak and tight muscles through exercise and posture correction can help improve APT over time.

Scoliosis is a medical condition in which a person’s spine curves sideways, forming an “S” or “C” shape rather than a straight line. The curvature can occur at any part of the spine but is most commonly seen in the chest (thoracic) or lower back (lumbar) regions.Scoliosis can vary in severity from mild to severe. In many cases, the cause of scoliosis is unknown (idiopathic scoliosis), though it can also result from congenital spine deformities, neuromuscular conditions, or injuries.Symptoms of scoliosis may include uneven shoulders, an asymmetrical waist, one hip higher than the other, or a noticeable curve in the spine when viewed from behind. In severe cases, scoliosis can cause pain, respiratory issues, and difficulty with movement. Treatment options range from observation and physical therapy to bracing or surgery, depending on the severity and progression of the curve.

Straightening of the cervical spine, also known as loss of cervical lordosis or cervical spine straightening, refers to the abnormal flattening or straightening of the natural curve of the neck. The cervical spine typically has a gentle inward curve (lordosis), which helps absorb shock and support the head. When this curve is straightened, it can lead to various symptoms and complications.

Tight or strained hamstrings can contribute to anterior knee pain. The hamstrings attach at the back of the knee and play a key role in knee movement and stability. When the hamstrings are tight or imbalanced, they can affect the alignment and movement of the knee joint. This can place additional stress on the patella (kneecap) and surrounding structures, leading to pain at the front of the knee.

Upper back pain is often caused by poor posture, muscle strain, or issues related to the thoracic spine. Common triggers include sitting for long periods, working at a desk without ergonomic support, or carrying heavy bags.
