๐Ÿง  This is what the spinal cord actually looks like โ€” a true marvel of biology!
Inside, the gray matter forms a distinctive butterfly shape ๐Ÿฆ‹, where it processes motor and sensory signals that let you move, feel, and respond to the world.
Surrounding it, the white matter transmits electrical impulses โšก at incredible speed, linking your brain to every part of your body.

The spinal cord is organized into dorsal, ventral, and lateral horns, each with essential roles:
โ€” Controlling voluntary movement
โ€” Regulating automatic functions like breathing and heartbeat

Myelinated nerve fibers bundle into spinal nerves that are critical for muscle control and interpreting sensations from your environment.

But perhaps the most fascinating part?
Many movements โ€” even walking โ€” occur without conscious thought. Intricate neural circuits coordinate seamlessly, running like a perfectly tuned, silent machine.

๐Ÿ’ก The human body is extraordinary, and the spinal cord is truly one of its most remarkable masterpieces.

Did you know we have a โ€œsecond heartโ€ in our legs?
No, itโ€™s not a mythโ€”itโ€™s the nickname given to the calf muscles, and the reason why is truly fascinating!

When we walk, climb stairs, or simply stand up, these muscles contract and act like a natural pump, pushing blood upwardโ€”against gravityโ€”toward the heart. ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿฉธ

This mechanism is essential for: โœ”๏ธ Supporting venous circulation
โœ”๏ธ Preventing blood from pooling in the legs
โœ”๏ธ Reducing swelling, heaviness, and the appearance of varicose veins
โœ”๏ธ Lowering the risk of deep vein thrombosis

It all works thanks to the teamwork between muscles and venous valves, which prevent the blood from flowing backward.

๐Ÿ‘‰ Thatโ€™s why sitting or staying still for too long can be harmfulโ€”while regular movement, even a simple walk, helps your circulatory system function more efficiently.

๐Ÿ’ก In other words: every step you take is a gift to your heart.
Walking, moving, stretching... simple gestures, but vital for your health.

โค๏ธ Donโ€™t forget: taking care of your legs means taking care of your heart.

China Reverses Diabetes with Stem Cell Therapy โ€” A Game-Changer or a Threat to Big Pharma?

In a groundbreaking medical breakthrough, Chinese scientists have successfully reversed both Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes in human patients using stem cell therapy.
Two patients are now living insulin-free โ€” an achievement that could signal a true cure for millions worldwide.

But hereโ€™s the catch: with the U.S. insulin market valued at $20 billion, widespread adoption of this therapy may face major pushback from industry giants.

Still, the results are promising, and this innovation could mark the beginning of a new era in diabetes treatment.

Today marks the death anniversary of Dr. Seemin Jamali, a distinguished luminary in the medical field. Born on August 19, 1961, in Lahore, she was the daughter of Ghulam Allah Din Muhammad Memon (G.D. Memon), a resident of Hala Old.

Dr. Jamali earned her MBBS degree from People's Medical College, Nawabshah, in 1986. She began her medical career in 1988 as a Medical Officer at Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) in Karachi. In 1993, she furthered her education by obtaining a Master's degree in Primary Health Care Management from Thailand. By 1995, she was leading the Emergency Department at JPMC. Her academic pursuits led her to a post-doctoral program at the Johns Hopkins School of Public Health in the United States, where she specialized in injury prevention and public health policy.
In 2010, Dr. Jamali was appointed Joint Executive Director of JPMC, and by 2016, she had risen to the position of Executive Director. That same year, an explosion occurred outside her hospital, resulting in injuries to herself and others. Throughout her career, Dr. Jamali was instrumental in advancing modern medical facilities at Jinnah Hospital, establishing both a mortuary and a center for treating patients bitten by rabid dogs. She passed away on May 27, 2023, after a courageous battle with cancer.

This astonishing scientific fact reminds us of the unimaginable complexity and precision within every human being โ€” a reflection of Allah's infinite knowledge and power. Although DNA is microscopic in each cell, when unraveled, its total length in one human body could reach the Sun and return 300 times. Such a miracle of design is not merely a biological wonder but a sign (ฤyah) from Allah, as mentioned in the Qur'an:

"And in your own selves. Will you not then see?"
(Surah Adh-Dhariyat 51:21)
