The Midwifery Association of Pakistan (MAP) is proud to support the launch of the IGNIT3 Online Nutrition Training Modules: "Nutrition for Health Professionals: Assessing, Managing, and Promoting Child, Adolescent, and Maternal Nutrition," recently held at Aga Khan University, Karachi.

The IGNIT3 project is a vital initiative aimed at addressing the nutritional challenges faced by Pakistan’s vulnerable communities. These online training modules, offered from the World Continuing Education Alliance (WCEA), have been specifically developed to equip healthcare professionals with the knowledge and skills necessary to make a meaningful impact on child, adolescent, and maternal nutrition.

In the session's closing remarks, Dr. Rafat Jan, President of MAP, emphasized the importance of the WCEA platform used for the online course, noting that MAP has recently signed an agreement with them. She highlighted the urgent need for this course in Pakistan, where maternal malnutrition and newborn health issues are significant concerns. MAP is strongly advocating for this initiative, particularly for midwives, to enhance their capacity in providing essential care.

This collaborative effort, alongside IGNIT3’s partners—Centre for Global Child Health, Nutrition International, WaterAid, and Aga Khan University—marks a crucial step toward a healthier future for Pakistan’s women, adolescents, and children by integrating nutrition, health, and WASH interventions.

Together, we are shaping resilient communities through improved nutrition and healthcare.
