Not doing enough…
STRENGTH TRAINING! 💪🏋️♀️
When you run, your body produces and absorbs forces that are 3-5 TIMES your bodyweight. Inability to properly absorb and recycle these forces into your next step makes you prone to injury.
Your calf muscles may even experience forces up to 8 TIMES your bodyweight. 🦵⚡
This is why research shows that STRENGTH TRAINING can minimize your chance of getting injured. 📉🚫
While running challenges your muscles, it does not help build more strength. 🏃♂️❌💪
This is why it’s crucial to have a basic strength training program with SQUATS, HINGES, and some CALF WORK. 🏋️♀️🦵
And don’t forget to PROGRESSIVELY OVERLOAD your lifts because once you’re doing countless reps with the same weight, it’s not exactly strength training anymore. 📈💪
