BiPAP (also referred to as BPAP) stands for Bilevel Positive Airway Pressure and is very similar in function and design to a CPAP machine (continuous positive airway pressure). Similar to a CPAP machine, A BiPAP machine is a non-invasive form of therapy for patients suffering from sleep apnea. Both machine types deliver pressurized air through a mask to the patient's airways. The air pressure keeps the throat muscles from collapsing and reducing obstructions by acting as a splint. Both CPAP and BiPAP machines allow patients to breathe easily and regularly throughout the night.

There is one major difference between CPAP and BiPAP:

CPAP machines are set at one single pressure while BiPAP machines are programmed with two distinct pressures—one for inhaling and one for exhaling. CPAP machines are primarily used to treat Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA) while BiPAP machines are used to treat Central Sleep Apnea, Complex Sleep Apnea, or COPD.

CPAP Machine: A CPAP machine only delivers therapy air to the wearer at one specific pressure and doesn’t vary unless manually changed by a sleep doctor. A CPAP machine pushes the same amount of air pressure throughout the night.

BiPAP Machine: A BiPAP can be programmed to have two different values of air pressure: one for inhaling and one for exhaling. These are respectively called Inspiratory Positive Airway Pressure (IPAP) and Expiratory Positive Airway Pressure (EPAP). BiPAP therapy pressures are usually higher for inhale and lower for exhale. The lower pressure on the exhale can make it more comfortable to breathe out.

Information for the people who intend to buy oxygen concentrator

Please ask the importer / supplier that whether it is medical grade or not?
By medical grade it means, suppose it is 6L flow, when you set at 6L, the concentration of oxygen should not go below 93%. Lot of oxygen concentrators available in the market, concentration goes to 30% on full flow capacity!
So it is waste of money as 21% oxygen is in air. So, 30% will not serve any purpose.

Medical grade oxygen concentrator, as a layman can check by its net weight. The netweight of the equipment should be more than 15Kg
The one available with 6-8Kg are room moisturizers!
Before purchasing, please ensure that it is medical grade or not!
