Leonard Muffty
IN LOVING MEMORY
October 11, 1951 - August 5, 2025
It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Leonard Muffty, who left us peacefully at home on August 5, 2025, at the age of 73. Leonard was born in Karachi, Pakistan to Joyce and Xavier Muffty, and was a devoted sibling to Dennis (Lucille), Oswald (Mary), Gerald, Diana (Carl) and Roland (Venita). Upon arriving in Canada, Leonard met Lydia Custodio. Together, they built a life, raising their four children, Jeffrey, Ryan (Susanne), Shawn, and Sasha, and celebrating life’s milestones with their vast extended family. Leonard also began a long career at CDA Industries. Starting by sweeping floors, he worked his way up through every department with determination and grit, eventually becoming operations and project manager. He continually sought growth, taking additional schooling whenever a new child was born to better provide for his family. For the past six years, Leonard shared companionship, laughter, adoration and love with Jacinta. Whether gallivanting across the globe or enjoying quiet moments at home gardening, going for walks, or watching A Place in the Sun, together they created something beautiful in life’s second act. Jacinta selmessly cared for Leonard through both good times and difficult ones, offering unwavering support, love, and devotion until the very end. Leonard’s love for both music and aviation was evident from an early age. His passion for these two worlds eventually led him to Abu Dhabi. There, he worked as a refueling supervisor with Air British Petroleum by day, overseeing the safe and precise refueling of aircraft, a role that required trust, attention to detail, and composure, all qualities Leonard had long embodied. By night, he moonlighted as a rock and roll star, sharing his music and spirit with those around him.Throughout his life, Leonard found renewal and joy in fishing.
Whether casting a line peacefully at Port Hope or pursuing the thrill of deep sea marlinshing in Florida, fishing was more than a hobby, it was a way to connect with nature, recharge, and reflect. Leonard was a devoted father to four children, each carrying a part of his spirit. He led by quiet example, showing how to be kind, how to help those you love, and how to persevere when life gets hard. He loved his children and grandchildren sincercely and shared updates about them with pride and joy whenever he could. He died in the place he called home, surrounded by the echoes of a life well lived, the quiet hum of guitars, the laughter of loved ones, and the knowledge that he had given everything he had to the people and passions that mattered most. Leonard leaves behind more than memories. He leaves a legacy of music, of love that endures and begins again, of resilience, and of a life lived with an open heart. And now, even though we feel the ache of his absence, we can still hear his song. It plays in our memories, in the lessons he left behind, and in the love that will continue long after.
May his soul rest in peace.🌹
