A 40-year-old female presented with a substantial 10×10 cm mass located on the posteromedial aspect of the thigh. Multiple tertiary care centers recommended hip disarticulation due to the tumor's size and proximity to critical neurovascular structures. However, at Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC), Ward 17, we opted for limb-salvage surgery.
We performed a wide-margin excision, successfully removing the tumor while preserving the limb.
Postoperative care was managed meticulously to minimize complications such as infection, dehiscence, and seroma formation, which are known risks in extensive soft tissue resections . The patient's recovery was uneventful, and limb function was preserved.
This successful outcome was made possible by the grace of God, the unwavering support of our mentors, and the collaborative efforts of the operating theater and anesthesia teams at JPMC
