That is why the Pakistan Stroke Initiative (PSI), in collaboration with Patients’ Aid Foundation, is building a free, state-of-the-art stroke care unit at Jinnah Hospital, Karachi. This facility is being designed to provide rapid, high-quality, and comprehensive stroke treatment, so care is based on urgency, not affordability.

This initiative is not just about treatment; it is about dignity, recovery, and giving families hope when they need it most. With your support, we can ensure that no one is turned away due to cost and that every patient gets a real chance at a second life.

Farhat Murtaza, MD is a U.S.-based physician with extensive experience working within complex healthcare systems, focusing on quality of care, clinical accuracy, and patient outcomes. Her work involves close engagement with U.S. federal payer regulations, compliance standards, and value-based care frameworks, ensuring that clinical practices align with regulatory requirements while supporting ethical, patient-centered care. Through her systems-focused role, Dr. Murtaza develops a nuanced understanding of how timely recognition, coordinated care, and system-level processes can significantly influence survival and recovery—particularly in time-sensitive conditions such as stroke.

Dr. Murtaza is also an active member of the Muslim Women Organization of Orlando and has served as a volunteer faculty member at a medical school. .

In alignment with these values, Dr. Murtaza supports the mission of the Pakistan Stroke Initiative to enhance stroke education, early detection, and health system readiness. She endorses efforts to establish stroke centers across Pakistan, recognizing their vital role in expanding access to timely, life-saving stroke care.

Dr. Amina Saqib is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Jersey. She
currently serves as President of APPNA New Jersey and is actively engaged in leadership, mentorship, and physician community development. She is deeply committed to service and advocacy and is actively involved in supporting multiple educational and philanthropic NGOs. She also serves on the Board of W2W (Women to Women), a global women’s empowerment organization focused on mentorship and leadership development.

She is the creator and host of Wellness Compass, a health education YouTube series dedicated to empowering communities through accessible and evidence-based medical guidance.
