There are a number of health professionals throughout Asia and Africa who are unable to further their qualifications from academically renowned institutes simply due to lack of financial resources and / or lack of easy access. There are undergraduate students who would like to take their (for example) USMLEs/ PLAB but do not due to want of the requisite skills and knowledge. A number of basic scientists working away from their home countries can not improve their qualifications because their working conditions do not provide them with the time-off needed to attend face-to-face courses. Many highly qualified professionals, busy practitioners, would love to receive creditable information about latest developments in their fields of expertise. These experts are at times restrained due to immense work pressure to attend seminars and conferences. Many professionals would like to publish in areas of (medical) education and require professional assistance and support. under these conditions, there is a dire need for an establishment which caters to the academic needs of the health professionals. EMER is an academic organization aiming to offer a variety of courses to the health professionals in the region. It is not a degree awarding institute, yet, and plans at collaborating with a number of educational institutes and universities in the western region, bringing the expertise to the gulf region and beyond.
