An 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗩𝗶𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗹 𝗜𝗻𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 is a procedure to place a medication directly into the space in the back of the eye called the vitreous cavity, which is filled with a jelly-like fluid called the vitreous humor gel.

Intravitreal injections are used to administer medications to treat a variety of retinal conditions.

You might not have symptoms in the early stages of diabetic retinopathy. As the condition progresses, you might develop:

•Spots or dark strings floating in your vision (floaters)
•Blurred vision
•Fluctuating vision
•Dark or empty areas in your vision
•Vision loss
