NICH - National Institute Of Child Health NICH is a 553 bedded hospital. Its highly qualified faculty provides teaching and training facilities both at under graduates and post graduates levels.

It is the first children hospital of Pakistan and presently one of the largest and only children hospital of the province of Sindh. NICH provides tertiary care services for almost all types of pediatric diseases and is equipped with latest diagnostic gadgetries. A 45 member team of the NICH Nursing School comprising of faculty members and students took part in the Health Carnival at Maritime Museum, Karachi, the theme was “Health and Fun for Everyone.”

Nearly 500 people took advantage of the on-site health check-ups, including invaluable information on oral hygiene, germ free zones, child growth monitoring, CPR and HPV vaccine.

The information was disseminated in a fun and entertaining manner through purposed designed games which ensured active participation of the visitors.

World Pediatric ICU Day Celebration at NICH

NICH celebrated the World Pediatric ICU Day highlighting the advancements in pediatric intensive care. Dr. Asma Kiani and Dr. Ghazala Ali shared valuable insights into the progress made by NICH in ICU care, where a 13-bed state of the art facility provides Free of Cost treatment to nearly 2000 patients annually.
Two renowned pediatric intensivists from USA, Dr. Mehmud Khichi from Baylor College of Medicine, Texas and Dr. Taj Khan from El Paso Children's Hospital, Texas expressed their appreciation of the NICH ICU team headed by Dr. Murtaza ALi Gowa

The event featured a distinguished panel including Prof. Nasir Saleem Saddal, Prof. Mohsina Ibrahim, and Dr. Mir Uzair Hashmi who gave their expert comments on the importance of the ICU facility for the general public.
