Ik Sham Maon K Naam
An evening of Solidarity for Mothers
—was a heartfelt and purposeful gathering dedicated to safeguarding maternal lives and strengthening women’s health services. This meaningful event brought together healthcare leaders, policymakers, and esteemed guests with one shared mission: no mother should lose her life while giving life.
The evening focused on two vital commitments:
Establishment of a Maternal ICU to provide timely, specialized critical care for high-risk mothers.
Secondary prevention of cervical cancer through HPV testing, ensuring early detection and protection for women who silently suffer.
We were deeply honored by the gracious presence of Dr Azra Fazal Pechuho, whose unwavering support for public health continues to inspire progress across Sindh.
We were also privileged to welcome Mr Tahir Sangi, whose administrative leadership strengthens healthcare delivery systems.
Our sincere gratitude to Dr Amjad Siraj, Vice Chancellor of Jinnah Sindh Medical University, for fostering academic excellence and supporting initiatives that directly impact patient care.
We also acknowledge Dr Khalid Sher, Executive Director of Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre, for his continued commitment to strengthening tertiary care services.
The presence of distinguished faculty members and respected guests reflected a collective resolve — that maternal mortality is not just a statistic, but a shared responsibility.

“Ik Sham Maon K Naam” was not merely an event; it was a pledge. when we protect a mother,
we protect a family,
we protect a future.
