The Al Fatima Clinic was established as a maternity home in 1982, under the supervision of Dr. Nasim Bano Rahman FRCS. At the time Dr Nasim Rahman was working as Associate Professor in Obstetrics & Gynaecology in Civil Hospital. Dr Nasim Bano Rahman left for her heavenly abode in March 2010. The Clinic enjoys a strong clinical reputation amongst patients, medical colleagues and the wider community. There are specialist Consultants Dr Zeba Abbas & Dr Afsha Nagi managing the Gynaecology and Obstetrics Department who share an excellent reputation for their operative skills and expertise in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. The Consultants are supported by an able team of Operating Department Practitioners, junior doctors, nurses and nurse-assistants on the wards. The Gynaecologists are also supported by Consultants in other specialties such as Consultant Anaesthetists, General Surgeons and Paediatric Neonatologists. The nursing, nurse-assistant and paramedical staff in the Clinic have been associated with us since the Clinic's inception 30 years ago. They are an essential part of the team and are well-versed in looking after maternity patients. The Clinic averages about 1400 obstetric deliveries and 1200 gynaecological operations each year.
