Dr. Nauman Zafar Khan

Hello and Assalamoalaikum everyone, I am Dr. Nauman, a graduate of Dow Medical College, Karachi, Pakistan, batch of 1996. After serving for a brief period as a lecturer of Pharmacology, I decided to go on the other side of the table again by become a postgraduate trainee and resident and pursued specialisation in Family Medicine from the Aga Khan University, Karachi. While being there, I passed my MCPS and MRCGP Int. (a degree from the Royal College of UK), after which I worked as Senior Registrar at Ziauddin Medical University, Clifton, Karachi, Pakistan and as Family Physician at the Aga Khan University and as a Medical Doctor at Shell Petrochemicals a Royal Dutch international company.

I moved to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA), as Assistant Professor and Consultant Family Medicine and also worked as the Chief Co-Ordinator of the Faculty Development Unit, assistant editor of the international journal of health sciences (a PubMed indexed journal), and coordinator of the employees’ wellness program at Al-Qassim University, Saudi Arabia.

I also represented the college of Medicine in World Federation for Medical Education (WFME) task force sub-committee.

I went to West Virginia University, USA for the second post-graduation in Tropical and Travel Medicine and completed the same in 2012.

In 2013, I went to Australia and became a member of the two Royal Australian Colleges there.

I came to Pakistan for a very short while and joined the Aga Khan and later Dow international again for a very short duration in 2017.

I also worked for Al-Hamra Welfare Medical Centre, Al-Mustafa Welfare Medical Centre, and Medilink in Clifton, Karachi Pakistan.

In 2017, I went to Jeddah again for a short while to work and help build a newly established Medical Centre for the expatriates at the King Abdullah Economic city near Jedda, KSA.

I have now permanently moved back to Pakistan and am doing Clinical Practice at:

South City Hospital, Clifton, Karachi, Pakistan, on Mondays & Fridays from 3:00-6:00 PM and on Saturdays from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM

and

2. Park Lane Hospital, Clifton, Karachi from Tuesdays to Thursdays between 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM

However, my real work and calling is health and education related. Raising health and diseases awareness among the people I love the most, Pakistanis, and dissemination of education on topics that are tragically and unfortunately not taught in the normal school or college settings but are necessary in everyday practical life of every single individual and comes very handy if one is at least a little bit literate in these. These are common and very interesting and useful topics that range from practical and applicable psychology in everyday life, relationships and their dynamics, improving productivity, self-growth, world history (as we learn from the past), time management, prioritising, and basic financial literacy. I wish we could introduce such topics in our schools and college curriculum as well.
