Marie Stopes Society Pakistan was honored to participate in the Multi-Disciplinary Medical Conference 2026, organized by the Pakistan Medical Association at the Post Graduate Medical Institute (PGMI), Peshawar. Centered around the theme “In Prevention Lies Our Salvation,” the conference brought together healthcare leaders, medical professionals, students, pharmaceutical partners, and civil society to strengthen dialogue on preventive healthcare and collaborative action.

During the event, MSS established an informational stall showcasing its comprehensive family planning and reproductive health services, including community-based outreach through the Roshni Model, SF initiatives, and ANSA clinics. The Roshni Van attracted significant interest and appreciation from participants for its role in delivering essential healthcare services to rural and hard-to-reach communities.

The visit of the Honorable Minister for Health, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and members of the Pakistan Medical Association further highlighted the impact of MSS’s work, including its sustained contribution to family planning for over three decades and its humanitarian response during flood relief operations in Swat and Buner. The engagement resulted in meaningful discussions, expressions of collaboration, and requests to extend medical camps to underserved districts such as Bannu, Lakki Marwat, and South Waziristan.

Our participation reinforced MSS’s commitment to preventive healthcare, partnership-building, and expanding access to quality health services for communities most in need.

Delivering Hope Where It’s Needed Most

On 14th January 2026, the Rajan Pur Roshni 2 Team conducted a planned OR camp at Basti Allah Dewaya, Barsabad (District Rajan Pur)—an underserved area of Southern Punjab with limited access to healthcare and transportation facilities.

During routine OPD services, an emergency case of spontaneous vaginal delivery was received. With swift clinical judgment and dedication, Ms. Tahira Khursheed (RSP) and Ms. Maseera Rehman (Pharmacist) successfully conducted the delivery inside the OR Van, resulting in the safe birth of a healthy baby boy. Both mother and child were stabilized, and essential postnatal care guidelines were shared with the family.

The parents and community expressed immense gratitude for the free, life-saving services provided at their doorstep. This marks the third successful emergency delivery performed by Ms. Tahira Khursheed during OR camps—an inspiring example of commitment and excellence.

👏 Proud of our OR and MSS teams for their tireless efforts in saving precious human lives and strengthening community health.

Marie Stopes Society Pakistan commemorated the 16 Days of Activism against Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV) with a community event in Village Bagan Abro, Larkana, under this year’s theme: “End Digital Violence Against All Women and Girls.”

The session brought together 20 couples to raise awareness about the growing risks women and girls face in digital spaces. Participants learned about various forms of digital violence, including cyberbullying, online harassment, privacy breaches, and unsafe online behaviours that can harm their safety and dignity. The awareness discussion also highlighted safe online practices, reporting mechanisms, and the vital role families and communities play in prevention.

Following the session, a free medical camp was arranged to provide essential health services, counseling, and guidance—ensuring continued support for community wellbeing beyond the event.

This initiative not only helped participants understand the seriousness of digital violence but also strengthened community capacity to protect women and girls both online and offline. Together, we move one step closer to creating safer, more empowered digital spaces for all.
