At Chashma Goth, Ibrahim Hyderi, Karachi, Marie Stopes Society - Pakistan participated in a Health and Family Planning Camp organized by the Health & Population Welfare Department, Sindh.

During the event, the MSS Team provided 480 essential healthcare and family planning services, reflecting MSS’s ongoing commitment to delivering affordable and accessible reproductive health services to underserved communities.

The camp was graced by the presence of Ms. Shaheena Sher Ali, Minister of Women Development Authority Sindh, Mr. Mehmood Alam Jamot, Member of the Provincial Assembly of Sindh, and Mr. Shah Faisal Zahir, Director CTLS, PWD Sindh. The honorable guests visited the MSS display stall, OPD camp, and Roshni Mobile Van, and commended the team’s dedicated efforts in community service.

A wonderful day of learning and collaboration!

As part of learning and engagement visit, the Aga Khan University (AKU) team had an insightful session with our colleagues, where we discussed and built mutual understanding on the network, functions, and operations of Marie Stopes Society - Pakistan.

The interactive discussion provided an excellent opportunity to exchange ideas, share best practices, and explore the impact of our collective efforts in advancing reproductive health services and community outreach.

Marie Stopes Society with Bayer Pakistan | World Contraceptive Day 2025

Bayer Pakistan invited Marie Stopes Society - Pakistan to share its technical expertise and extensive experience in sexual and reproductive health (SRH) at the World Contraceptive Day celebrations.

Day 1: At Bayer Head Office, an engaging awareness session highlighted the significance of contraception and addressed myths and misconceptions in the community.

Day 2: A thought-provoking panel discussion at Aga Khan University (AKU) , where Dr. Tasneem Fatima, Director of Health Services at MSS, represented our vision and commitment.

Saving Lives in Muzaffargarh

During a recent medical camp, the OR-2 Rajanpur team successfully managed an emergency delivery case. Thanks to the swift response and skilled care of RSP Tahira Khurshed and MA Parveen, a mother safely delivered twin babies.

Both mother and newborns are healthy and stable — a powerful reminder of the dedication and expertise of our Roshni Mobile Van and MSS teams.

We extend our sincere appreciation to all our partners, and a special thanks to Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) under the Delivering Accelerated Family Planning in Pakistan (DAFPAK) programme for their invaluable support.

Marie Stopes Society - Pakistan (MSS) has once again been honored with a prestigious recognition. The Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa awarded MSS Certificates of Appreciation in the districts of Swat and Buner for our outstanding services and dedicated efforts during the recent flood relief operations.

This milestone would not have been possible without the unwavering dedication of our team, who worked tirelessly on the frontlines to provide essential healthcare and relief to the affected communities.

We are deeply grateful to our valued partners, particularly the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office, (FCDO), for their continued support under the Delivering Accelerated Family Planning in Pakistan (DAFPAK) program. Strengthening Capacity for Reproductive Health & Family Planning in Punjab

Marie Stopes Society - Pakistan (MSS), with the generous support of the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office,(FCDO) through the Delivering Accelerated Family Planning in Pakistan (DAFPAK) programme under Capital Departmental Expenditure Limit (CDEL), is proud to have conducted a two-day intensive training on Values Clarification and Attitude Transformation (VCAT), Reproductive Health (RH), and Family Planning (FP) Counselling for faculty of Schools of Nursing & Midwifery (SONM) under the Punjab Health & Population Department.

The training engaged 26 participants from Multan, Lahore, Faisalabad, and Sahiwal, equipping them with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to become stronger advocates for family planning and reproductive health.

Led by MSS-certified Master Trainers, the sessions focused on:

· Reflecting on personal values and professional conduct
· Strengthening FP & RH counseling skills
· Aligning practices with national laws & policies
· Addressing myths and misconceptions
· Enhancing research understanding

We extend our gratitude to Ms. Rukhsana Kausar, Director TR&P, for her visionary leadership in fostering public-private partnerships, and to Captain (R) Aurangzeb Haider Khan, Director General Health & Population Department, Punjab, for gracing the closing ceremony and reaffirming the government’s strong commitment to RH and FP initiatives.

The results were remarkable — participants demonstrated significant improvement in knowledge, reduced conflicts around sensitive topics, and showed 100% confidence in providing accurate FP and RH counselling post-training.

Strengthening Partnerships for Community Health in Larkana

Marie Stopes Society - Pakistan (MSS) had the privilege of hosting His Excellency Mr. Neil Hawkins, Australian High Commission, Pakistan, along with the Australian NGO Cooperation Program (ANCP) delegation — including Ms. Dianne Hawkins, Ms. Georga Nonnenmacher (Second Secretary – Political), and Mr. Mateen Amin (Program Officer – Political & Economic) — for a donor site visit at our Social Franchise Provider Clinic, Jeelani Maternity Home, Taluka Ratodero, Larkana, on Saturday, 13th September 2025.

The delegation was warmly welcomed by the MSS team: Mr. Faisal Nazeer Thebo (Deputy General Manager Operations), Dr. Omar Farooq (Senior Manager Technical Services), Mr. Samiullah Brohi (Regional Channel Lead Sindh), Mr. Abdul Basit (District Officer Larkana), and Ms. Seema Mari (Senior Cluster Supervisor).

During the visit, the MSS team provided a comprehensive briefing on the Social Franchise (SF) model, highlighting its role in delivering affordable and accessible reproductive health services in underserved areas, as well as the impact of ANCP’s support.

The High Commissioner also met with SF Provider Ms. Seema Naz Abro, who has been part of the ANCP-supported MSS network since 2023. She shared her inspiring journey of serving marginalized populations and explained how MSS support has strengthened her capacity to deliver quality family planning and reproductive health services in her community.

The delegation was given a guided tour of the clinic and witnessed firsthand the transformative impact of donor support on community health.

This visit was conducted under the MSS/MSI-managed project “Building Climate-Resilient Communities and Meeting Sexual and Reproductive Health Needs in Larkana, Pakistan.” The project is supported by the Australian NGO Cooperation Program (ANCP) and the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT).

Strengthening Access to Reproductive Health in Underserved Communities

Marie Stopes Society Pakistan (MSS) was honored to host a high-level visit at our Social Franchise (SF) clinic of Ms. Shaheena Shoukat in Chak Jhumra, Faisalabad.

We were privileged to welcome Ms. Jane Marriott, British High Commission in Pakistan, along with the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) delegation, including Mr Ben Warrington, Dr. Bilal Zafar, and Mr Saeed ul Hassan.

The delegation received a detailed orientation on the MSS Social Franchise model from Mr. Faisal Nazeer Thebo (Deputy GM - Operations), followed by a tour of the clinic where they witnessed firsthand the impact of our partnership in delivering quality and affordable family planning services.

High Commissioner Jane Marriott engaged with clients, appreciated the dedication of SF Provider Ms. Shaheena Shoukat (partner since 2014), and commended the role of MSS in empowering women and strengthening reproductive health services in marginalized communities.

PM Youth Programme and Marie Stopes Society Pakistan Join Hands to Provide Free Medical Services for Flood-Affected Families

Chairman of the Prime Minister’s Youth Programme, Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan, inaugurated a nationwide series of free medical camps for families affected by heavy rains and floods, starting from the Babu Sabu area of Lahore. This initiative has been launched in collaboration with the Marie Stopes Society Pakistan and aims to provide timely and quality healthcare services to flood-affected communities.

Through these camps, affected people will receive free medical check-ups, essential medicines, and necessary diagnostic tests, provided by specialist doctors and trained medical staff. The facilities are being set up particularly in the most flood-affected regions including Lahore, Faisalabad, Kasur, Chiniot, Multan, Khanewal, Muzaffargarh, Rajanpur, Swat, Swabi, Buner, Shangla, Larkana, Dadu, Hyderabad, Shikarpur, Jamshoro, Tando Allahyar, Mirpur, Tando Muhammad Khan, and other vulnerable areas.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan emphasized that the government will not abandon the affected communities. “It is our national duty to stand by our brothers and sisters in this difficult time. The Prime Minister’s Youth Programme has always prioritized serving the people, and today, through these free medical camps, we are ensuring immediate relief to flood-affected families,” he said.

The ceremony was also attended by the Special Representatives to the Prime Minister’s Youth Programme — Mr Rizwan Anwar, Ms Maha Jamil, and Mr Asfand Yar Naseer — who expressed their strong commitment to serving the nation and youth, especially in the flood-affected regions of the country

Aamir Yousaf, Provincial In-Charge of Marie Stopes Society Pakistan, stated that the medical camps will provide timely treatment, with a special focus on women and children, along with public health awareness in the affected areas.

With the support of DAFPAK and Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office FCDO, these free medical camps will continue to expand in the coming days to cover more regions, ensuring maximum support for flood-affected families.
