Federal Health Minister Syed Mustafa Kamal emphasized the urgent need to focus on the prevention of Hepatitis, Breast Cancer, and other non-communicable diseases (NCDs) in Pakistan, highlighting that the future of healthcare must prioritize disease prevention rather than treatment. He reiterated that the current Health Ministry’s vision is centered on proactive health measures, community awareness, and early detection programs to reduce the national disease burden. The Health Research Advisory Board has played a pivotal role in shaping this forward-looking approach by promoting innovation, research, and the integration of electronic health records (EHRs)—a transformational step toward a more efficient and data-driven healthcare system. Furthermore, the strengthening of healthcare collaboration between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia marks a significant milestone, paving the way for enhanced healthcare infrastructure, shared expertise, and improved health outcomes for the Pakistani population.

We Are Not Just A Team We Are A Family

Baqai Institute of Diabetology and Endocrinology (BIDE) is a Research institute and Rehabilitation for Diabetes, Endocrine and Metabolic Disorders. It is first and only multidisciplinary tertiary care diabetes hospital in Karachi Pakistan.

BIDE came into existence in the year 1996. BIDE has introduced innovative concept of collaborative services first time in Pakistan; where consultation and advice by the consultant diabetologist, the nutritionist, and the diabetes educator coupled with prompt laboratory support services has made the management plan of a single visit, increasingly convenient and compliant. The concept of a "Diabetes Care Team" has proved very successful.

BIDE is one of the eight centres of the world, which are designated as International Diabetes Federation (IDF) Centre of Education. BIDE is accredited with College of Physician & Surgeon of Pakistan (CPSP) for the training of FCPS II Medicine and post fellow Fellowship FCPS Endocrine.
