Haji Rang Elahi Eye & General Hospital

Haji Rang Elahi & Haji Mahboob Elahi Foundation was Established in August 1971, since then this foundation has funded and supported variuos health and educational Projects. In 1985 it was proposed by him and Dr.Mukhtar that an eye hospital of tertiary level should be opened up in Karachi to accommodate the growing Health needs of this metropolitan city and rural areas of Sind. Construction of Haji Rang Elahi Eye & General Hospital started in 1985 and this project was inaugurated in 1990. Being a 53 bed Hospital it was equipped with the most modern diagnostic and surgical tools. Since then operations of cataract surgery, corneal grafting, occuloplastic(squint etc), vitreoretinal surgeries, glaucoma surgeries, DCR’s, other minor surgeries plus diff laser treatments are a routine.

We at HREEGH, maintain high standards of service by engaging qualified doctors and staff and attending to people’s medical needs with best possible equipment, consumables and medicines. We are specially compassionate to the needy, including the white collar segment and charges are kept low for their facilitation. Furthermore, we have implemented a “NEEDY SERVICE MODEL” advised by M***i Ibrahim Essa of Dar-ul-Uloom Korangi, Karachi for needy patients. All medical treatments are offered free of cost to the needy patients through generous contribution received in Donations/Zakat Fund and after thorough verification through the model.
