When it comes to newborns, there’s no room for error - only preparation.

This , we spotlight the role of skilled hands behind every accurate diagnosis.

In newborn care, even the smallest sample can make a life-changing difference. To support better training, CIME developed a low-cost, in-house simulator in collaboration with AKU's Department of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine to help healthcare professionals at AKU practice and refine dry blood spot sampling safely. 🩸💉

Because strong laboratory systems start with confident, well-trained hands. 🙌

What goes on behind the scenes of a great simulation? Long days. Tired faces. And a team that keeps going. 💙

Team CIME came together today - from Education to Technical to Admin - to test BiPAP settings, explore complex physiological responses, and fine-tune scenarios on our new HAL S5301… all to make learning more real, more meaningful, and more impactful.

Because great simulation doesn’t just happen - it’s built, tested, and perfected by people who care.

CIME Karachi successfully concludes its 21st Clinical Simulation Educators Programme (CSEP)! 👏👏

From doctors and nurses to simulation centre leaders - CSEP brought together a diverse cohort of healthcare professionals from across Pakistan for four days of immersive learning.

Delivered through a blended learning approach via , CSEP continues to strengthen how healthcare is taught by equipping educators with the skills to create safer, more effective learning environments through healthcare simulation. 🙌

"Artemis, daughter of Zeus and Leto, and twin sister of Apollo, was a goddess of hunting, but also of childbirth and the care of children. It seems fitting, then, that as Artemis II returns to Earth, we reflect on how we are improving the world for our children, so that they—and their children—receive better health care.”

This , we explore how simulation is helping make that future safer, smarter, and more reliable.

Not every life-saving skill is clinical. Some are spoken.

From handling difficult conversations to calming anxious families, at CIME, undergraduate nursing students are trained to communicate with clarity, empathy, and purpose. Through simulation-based learning, they practice taking accurate histories under pressure, connecting with patients in pain, and even navigating language barriers in real-world scenarios.

Because in healthcare, how you speak can be just as important as what you do.

Training future healthcare professionals is at the heart of building stronger health systems. 💪

This , the theme “𝘛𝘰𝘨𝘦𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘏𝘦𝘢𝘭𝘵𝘩, 𝘚𝘵𝘢𝘯𝘥𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘚𝘤𝘪𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘦" underscores the urgent need for well-prepared, science-driven care.

At AKU in Nairobi, Tanzania, and Pakistan, the Centre for Innovation in Medical Education (CIME) is advancing this by integrating innovation into how healthcare students and professionals are trained.

Through hands-on, simulation-based learning that mirrors real patient care, CIME empowers medical, nursing, and midwifery students to build skills, confidence, and clinical judgment before entering real-world settings. The result: graduates who are ready from day one to deliver safe, high-quality care - driving better patient outcomes for all. 🙌
