AKU’s first-ever DMEK corneal transplant training on human tissues just wrapped up — and it was nothing short of eye-opening. 👁️
Led by AKU’s Department of Ophthalmology in collaboration with Dr Nizar Din and his team from Western Eye Hospital, London, this incredible hands-on experience brought together budding eye surgeons from AKU and LRBT, Pakistan, to master the art of ultra-precise corneal transplants — using human tissues flown in all the way from the USA. 🇺🇸
Big thanks to everyone involved for making this happen. From the sim lab to the surgical suite — this is how we truly train for impact at CIME!
