Did you know that around 25% of all adults have varicose veins, most of whom are women? Varicose veins are caused when the walls of the veins become weakened and this can be because of a variety of different reasons including excessive weight gain, hormonal imbalance or stuffy or restrictive clothingπŸ§₯.
While they're usually benign, some lifestyle changes must be put into effect, to prevent the situation from getting any worse. These may include losing weight or maintaining a healthy oneπŸ₯—, working out πŸ‹οΈβ€β™‚οΈ and the use of compression socks🧦. These stockings place enough pressure on your legs allowing the blood to flow more easily to your heart.
However, if these lifestyle changes are not essentially useful, invasive procedures might be required to tackle the situation. Therefore, if you or anyone you know notices these signs and symptoms, schedule a check up at DVES immediately to assess the severity of your situation, free of costπŸ™ŒπŸ»!

Life is an uphill battle for the veins in your legsπŸ§—. They spend most of their time working against gravity, carrying blood from your feet to your heart. And sometimes valves inside them may weaken with time, causing the blood to backflow and form pools in the veins. Over time, these veins might start bulging under the surface of the skin, causing a condition called 'varicose veins'.

The first hint of any unusual activity comes in the form of 'spider veinsπŸ•ΈοΈ'- red/purplish star shaped clusters of blood vessels under the skin. While some people might think of this as a mere cosmetic problem, if left untreated it can cause severe problems like skin ulcers which might be debilitating and problematic to deal with in the near future. Therefore, if you or anyone you know notices these signs and symptoms, schedule a check up at DVES immediately, free of costπŸ™ŒπŸ»!

Varicose veins are a very common condition characterised by twisted and dilated veins, especially on the legs. Do you know what causes themπŸ€”?
This situation normally arises due to the presence of circulatory problems, mainly the presence of weak valves that are unable to prevent the backflow of blood, leading to possible congestions.
A lot of different risk factors are associated with this condition, including obesity, pregnancy and lifestyle habits that involve standing for hours on endπŸ•°οΈ.
It's symptoms may seem minor at first but they can quickly worsen, affecting quality of life, if left untreated. Therefore, if you or anyone you know has varicose veins, schedule a check up at DVES, free of costπŸ™ŒπŸ»!

Did you know that Critical Limb Ischemia (CLI) is more fatal than heart failure, stroke and even most cancers?

CLI is a crippling disease which causes a severe blockage of arteries in the legs. This reduces blood flow, causes pain, ulcers and ultimately gangrene.

As vascular diseases mount in Pakistan, surgeons at DVES explore more options to treat and manage CLI. Currently, these options are limited.

Therefore, it is important to keep an eye out for symptoms of CLI.

Visit our page for more information or check in on Vascular OPD to get FREE OF COST checkup!
