Your shoes can be your best support system or your biggest setback.
Our head physio, PT Rabbia, explains what makes the difference.
This isn’t a paid post, just a reminder that the right footwear can make all the difference for your comfort, movement, and long-term foot health. Your feet carry you everywhere. Choose the shoes that support you.
At PWC, we’ve invited our team members to wear the following designs by .com.pk : Pu1106 | Pu1109
We recommend these and similar designs in this series to our patients because of how well they support foot-health, compared to other alternatives available. It’s possible for supportive shoes to feel new to your body and you may get feedback in the form of discomfort. You can ease into them.
DM us if you want to explore foot health and assess how it’s impacting your daily life.

Being well means different things for different individuals.
For us here at pwc, our intention is to help our community members connect with their bodies through their physical discomforts and learn to live better lives through pain-free movement.
To recognise that nothing is wrong with them and the issue does not need to be fixed. Just understood and readjusted to align with what will cause less pain in the long term.
There’s no destination. There’s a slow, incremental, building of new habits and a relationship with the body that leads to feeling “well”.
It’s a mindset and an everyday practice.
This is why we’ve added life coaching to our list of services. To help individuals build everyday practices that align with their wellness goals.

How is our Recovery Session Different from our Typical Physiotherapy Session?
Physiotherapy targets specific injuries; recovery focuses on balancing the whole body. It releases tight fascia, improves posture, and enhances overall movement—fine-tuning after physio.
Who Needs Recovery?
Whether you’re an athlete, work at a desk, or recovering from injury, recovery sessions help with muscle fatigue, chronic pain, and stiffness.
Why is Recovery Important?
Your body needs fuel to function, just like a car. Recovery restores muscles, fascia, and joints, reducing pain, improving flexibility, and enhancing mobility. It’s about thriving, not just surviving.
What Happens in a Recovery Session?
Recovery sessions blend fascial release, deep tissue massage, and targeted stretching. Personalized to your needs, they release tension and realign your body, helping you move better.

PWC is now offering life coaching services through its cofounder, Saman Ghani Khan.
To many of our followers, it may not immediately click as to what connection a physiotherapy clinic has with life coaching. Read this post if you’re curious.
Over the past 5 years, since our inception, our cofounders, Saman and Rabbia, have gained inspiration from each other in designing a wellness journey for PWC patrons that is holistic in its approach.
Part of this is the recognition that people are entire beings - not the list of symptoms they come to us with. And each body is so unique. How can one solution fit all?
People with histories of trauma, toxic stress, and adversity are dealing with the consequences of having multiple things effecting each other, creating changes in body, behavior, social/emotional, and spiritual aspects of life (Arizona Trauma Institute).
So, as a wellness centre, we’re on a path to add as much support as we can to our service that recognizes that in order for us to aid the body in healing itself, we must approach the person holistically.
Simply put, we recognize that the person who walks into our door complaining of pain in the lower right side of his back, is experiencing the cumulative impact of an entire lived experience that includes what kind of environment he grew up in as well as how he chooses to position himself in the office chair.
With trauma-informed coaching, we’re offering a deep- dive into identifying the changes you want to make, how to create these changes (safely, using the body’s wisdom), and discovering what’s getting in the way.
DM us to schedule a discovery session with Saman.
If you’re already a PWC patron, which means you have used our service before, life coaching is accessible to you at a 40% discount.

Small changes that seem insignificant, at first, will compound into transformational results over time.
How many people do you know have recovered from injury or physical pain overnight?
There’s value in starting with the 1% percent.
What’s the 1% you can change today to move towards healing? If you need to change 5 things in your routine and add 3 daily exercises to improve your pain, what’s the 1% you can start with?
If you stick to 1% each day or each week…eventually, you’ll feel better, incrementally. And soon, you’ll wake up and recognise that the pain is 80% better than when you first started.
Author of Atomic Habits [incredibly useful read] James Clear, puts it so simply through the analogy of the melting ice.
He says…
Imagine that you have an ice cube sitting on the table in front of you. The room is cold and you see your breath.
“It’s currently twenty five degrees,” he writes.
Ever so slowly, the room begins to heat up.
25 degrees
27
28
The ice cube is still sitting on the table in front of you.
29 degrees
30
31
Still, nothing has happened.
Then 32 degrees, and the ice begins to melt.
A one-degree-shift, seemingly no different from the temperature increase before it, has unlocked a huge change.
“Your work is not wasted. It’s just being stored.”

When should you see a Physiotherapist?
You will benefit from Physiotherapy is you have…
• Pain in your muscles, joints, or back
• Muscular pain brought on by stress or other mental health disruptors
• Difficulty moving or doing daily activities
• Age-related discomfort in movement or otherwise (geriatric)
• Recently had surgery or an injury
• A long-term condition like arthritis or parkisons
• Head-aches that come from a muscular origin
• Mobility or performance-related goals around physical wellness
• Discomfort related to a woman’s physiology, such as pelvic dysfunction, endometriosis, breast cancer rehabilitation, pregnancy and postpartum issues
Stop telling someone to “fix” their posture. We’ve all heard that from a well-wisher. Our advice: Don’t listen.
The body is built to move in so many, non linear, ways. It does not do well when held in one position for long periods of time. Hence, we can’t advise people on perfect posture. There is none.
The key is to keep moving. So, if you’re sitting at a desk, pick any posture that feels comfortable - as long as you keep changing it at frequent intervals. Same advice applies for watching tv in bed or chilling at home - keep changing your position.

PWC is a partnership between a passionate physiotherapist, Dr Rabbia, and one of her “most satisfied patients”, journalist and Crossfit athlete-in-training, Saman Ghani Khan.
For a list of what we offer, please refer to our list of services.
We believe our patients and clients should know why we do, what we do. So, here’s a little background into Dr Rabbia’s journey to PWC: She started her physiotherapy training about eight years ago while still completing a Bachelors at the college of physiotherapy JPMC [She then went on to pursue a post professional degree from Isra University].
Being a physio was not part of her career plan. She sat for the entrance test at age 18 only to give a friend company. Since then, she’s been hooked.
Her passion only grew from there, and she began expanding her skill-set to include sports therapy for which she has LEVEL 1 certification. She has spent the last 8 years being trained and mentored at the physio therapy clinic at Doctor’s Plaza, where she was given the opportunity and space to grow and hone her skills in musculosketal & neurological physiotherapy.
In recent years, she has worked with the Pakistan Cricket Board as well, providing support for female players. For Dr Rabbia, the journey’s just beginning, and she plans to keep expanding her skill set and learning everyday to improve the quality & versatility of the physio centre’s services. Most recently, Dr Rabbia went to Beirut, Lebanon, to qualify and be certified in Myofascial Trigger Point Therapy in Dry Needling. So far, she is the only Pakistani to have received this qualification (January 2020).
At PWC, our hope is to make these services more accessible and show people how much value is added to one’s life from taking care of the human body this way. If you keep up basic strength, and are more mindful of your physical vulnerabilities, you may prevent serious injury or medical conditions, such as osteoarthritis, and back pain.
If you’re in pain from an injury or medical condition, come visit us (all ages are welcome). But also visit us if you feel like you want to improve your mobility and get rid of stress that’s accumulated in your muscles over time.
