PAF-JPMC was created in 1990 by a group of concerned citizens including philanthropic businessmen and industrialists with the thought to support and assist JPMC. Jinnah Hospital, a renowned tertiary care public hospital nearly serves a million patients each year, free of cost through its 31 medical departments. PAF-JPMC took the responsibility to alleviate the burden from JPMC which is struggling with the ever-increasing number of patients against its limited resources and to build back on its lost glory.

In the sacred month of Zil Hajj, we are reminded of the profound significance and blessings it brings. This month grants us the opportunity to reflect upon the spirit of sacrifice as we commemorate the first Hajj performed by our beloved Prophet Muhammad (SAW) and his noble companions. The acts of devotion and selflessness displayed during that momentous occasion continue to hold immense importance in our lives today.
During these holiest of days, we are called upon to increase our acts of worship, seeking closeness to Allah (SWT) through prayers, fasting, recitation of the Quran, and sincere supplication. It is a time for us to emulate the profound commitment and sacrifice demonstrated by Prophet Ibrahim (AS) and his son Ismail (AS).
We write to you today with heartfelt gratitude for your past contributions to the PAF-JPMC charity. Through your support, we have provided essential medical care and assistance to the less fortunate. We sincerely thank you for your kindness and compassion.
May Allah (SWT) accept your efforts and shower you with abundant blessings during these blessed days of Zil Hajj. Your donations extend beyond mere financial contributions; they are acts of worship that earn eternal rewards. Together, let us make a positive impact and spread love and kindness in the spirit of this auspicious month.

With sincere appreciation,
The Patients’ aid foundation, JPMC - Karachi.

Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences
Unfortunately, mental health is often overlooked or trivialized within out society. However, it is needed today more than ever as a young, digitally connected generation are dealing with the harsh realities of modern life. Only a very small percentage of psychiatric units are state-owned which further compounds the issue of readily available care for the less privileged class.
In recognizing this need, PAF with the generous commitment of its donor, the Soorty family, has constructed a state of art 120 bedded mental health facility at Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center. This all-inclusive facility is spread over 4 floors and includes:
• Expansive OPD having 17 consulting rooms
• Pharmacy with extensive psychiatric & psychological drugs
• 35 bedded psychiatric units for children & women
• 35 bedded psychiatric units for men
• 35 bedded addiction treatment units
• 10 consultant rooms
• Doctor offices
• Conference rooms
• Lecture hall

PAF-JPMC has shifted the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral sciences to a new building. The building hosts a 120 bed inpatient facility, however presently it is only operating its OPD on the ground floor. The first floor has faculty offices and special clinics with training facilities and the second floor has a further 40 inpatient beds. Third and fourth floor will be opened after the completion of other half of the building in next few months which will have Neurology and Stroke facilities for patients.

The Sardar Yasin Malik Medical Complex a state of the art center to be constructed constructed at the JPMC. Boasting 12 storeys of complete medical facilities with a capacity of 545 beds it will enable the JPMC to fulfill its mission of never turning away a patient.
This facility will have a full floor of special clinics, a dermatology unit and an intervention unit with endoscopy capabilities. With 500,000 sq ft of space this remarkable achievement for the JPMC will be a true testimony to what can be achieved through the power of humanity and the will to better the world.
This mega project has been donated by Sardar Yasin, Shabaz Malik, Shahid Malik and their family.
Much gratitude to the donor family.

Bank Alfalah demonstrates its commitment to social responsibility with a remarkable contribution of Rs.150 million to the Flood Victim Assistance Program, addressing flood relief in Pakistan, specifically in Sindh and Baluchistan. The program supports patients who travel from interior areas to Karachi for medical care, as flooding and socioeconomic conditions have increased the number seeking treatment at public sector centers.

These flood victims require comprehensive care for waterborne illnesses, malnutrition, and infections, necessitating diagnostic tests, medications, procedures, and prosthetics. Bank Alfalah collaborates with the Patients Aid Foundation (PAF) to establish dedicated counters at Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center (JPMC), assisting patients from flood-affected regions.

The Patients Aid Foundation expresses gratitude to Bank Alfalah's for its significant contribution. The donation plays a pivotal role in comprehensive relief efforts, rebuilding the lives of flood victims.

Bank Alfalah's philanthropic endeavors and collaboration with the Patients Aid Foundation exemplify corporate social responsibility, making a positive impact by addressing flood relief. They set a high standard for others, striving towards a more equitable and compassionate society.

Our Story

The Patients’ Aid Foundation (PAF) was founded 29 years ago by a group of concerned citizens, who recognized the rich history of Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC), Karachi, and the value of this facility in Pakistan. However, even though JPMC provided over a million patients, every year, with free medical attention, the crumbling structure and out-dated equipment made visits to the hospital unbearable. From this concern sprung the vision of PAF JPMC. Maintaining a strictly apolitical stance, PAF JPMC launched an independent drive to raise funds, reconstruct buildings and reinstate crucial medical equipment. Having successfully completed ten large-scale projects, PAF JPMC also established a state-of-the-art blood bank, a highly sophisticated laboratory and a streamlined drug bank. Today PAF JPMC has established a resolute reputation, which gives it the privilege of continuing its work, with the support of benevolent philanthropists.
