has received its first shipment of life-saving childhood cancer medicines through the Global Platform for Access to Childhood Cancer Medicines, established by WHO and St. Jude Children's Research Hospital - Science and Medicine in 2021, in collaboration with UNICEF.
Moldova is the second country in the WHO European Region to have joined the Global Platform. It aims to provide a supply of quality-assured cancer medicines to approximately 120 000 children in low- and middle-income countries.
With this delivery, Moldova is taking a major step towards equitable access to quality medicines for all children.
