Q: Do I need EPIC verification or any notary for PLAB exam?
A: No. You don’t need any of it.
When you apply for full registration for license to practice with GMC, they will ask for degree and HJ certificate. Generally speaking, you can give PLAB exam even in final year of MBBS. Because all they need is OET/IELTS and fee to allow you for exam. But it is recommended that you give plab exam at least after your graduation. Because this exam needs certain degree of clinical skills and knowledge.

PLAB 1.
Preparation material: Plab keys and plabable only, free links attached at the end.
Cost: £239 GBP.
Preparation time: 3-4 months
Eligibility; OET/IELTS in last 2 years
Study system by system. Do plab keys of one system then solve plabable for the same system. In this way you will be applying two layers of same knowledge. After first go, do plabable second time and this time do it without plab keys. At the end solve plabable mocks as much as you can and you are ready for exam. Well! it sounds simple, but alot of students struggle with this exam if they have carrier gaps or their basic knowledge is not up-to date. Therefore, if you feel like, you need to redo your 3Ps and anatomy a little bit, do that. It wont harm you.

PLAB 2. OSCE
Exam cost £875 GBP. Other than this, plab 2 academy will cost you 500 GBP and 2 month trip to England will cost you around 1500GBP + Air Ticket …….
Preparation time: Normally 1.5 month is enough. However it depends on how good are your clinical skills, bed side manners and confidence.
Eligibility; PLAB1 in last 2 years
Preparation materials can be requested.
Key is practice practice and practice. I took aspire academy online course for 10 days, then read aspire notes for 15 days with a friend, then went to England and practiced in academy for 3 days and went straight to the exam. I passed alhumdulillah. It is recommended that spend at-least 1 month in academy to the practice.
PLAB 2 VISA
Fill up visa application form on gov.uk . Pay the fee and then book your biometric appointment. After booking, upload soft copy of your supporting documents on given website link. Processing time it almost 40 days.

GMC Registration:
Documents needed, are as following.
1)Valid passport
2)Valid OET/IELTS
3)Acceptable 1 year house job
4)Good standing certificate from PMC
5)PLAB exam Passed in last 2 years
Processing time now a days is 5 working days.
Cost: 157 GBP as young doctor.
You may need to provide more documents if you have carrier gaps.
