The insights and stories of people with a lived experience of su***de can be extremely powerful in helping others understand su***de better and encourage people to reach in to support someone, and for individuals to reach out for help themselves.
Through action, you can make a difference to someone in their darkest moments - as a member of society, as a child, as a parent, as a friend, as a colleague or as a neighbour.
By encouraging understanding, reaching in and sharing experiences, we want to give people the confidence to take action. Our actions, no matter how big or small, may provide hope to those who are struggling.

Boundaries are defined rules or limits that someone establishes to protect their security and wellbeing around others; we identify and express how other people can behave around us so that we feel safe.
Having clear boundaries in all relationships allows people to care for themselves psychologically, which is not selfish, but an essential aspect of well-being.

Emotional intelligence (known as emotional quotient or EQ) is the ability to understand, use, and manage your own emotions in positive ways to relieve stress, communicate effectively, empathize with others, overcome challenges and defuse conflict. Mentally strong people are effective and productive in life because they devote their resources to the things they can control. They are able to engage themselves in active problem-solving and don't dwell on the problem... instead, they create solutions.
A high EQ helps you to build relationships, reduce team stress, defuse conflict and improve job satisfaction. Ultimately, a high EI means having the potential to increase team productivity and staff retention. EI is important for everyone who wants to be career ready.
“The emotionally intelligent person is skilled in four areas:
1- Identifying emotions
2- Using emotions
3- Understanding emotions
4- Regulating emotions
Our Emotional Intelligence skills are believed to be huge contributors to our overall success in life, due to their influence on our ability to self-management and motivation.
The good news is that while some people have EQ as a natural talent, for those that don't, EQ skills can be learned. ... People can learn how to interact more effectively at work and increase their emotional intelligence. To make this happen, an individual needs to be personally motivated to do this.
A person who is emotionally strong is one who doesn't let a person get to their emotions and make them sad or angry and can be calm and control their emotions during a stressful time or situation.

Self observation is a super power.

The more you practice observing yourself, the more you’ll see how much you project your “stuff” onto others. Our ideas. Our beliefs.

Our own life experiences come out all day long into those around us.

Our inner world reflects outwards.

If we aren’t aware of the ego, it will take us on an emotional roller coaster all day long. That person who told us we look tired? Rude. That woman who ran over our food with her shopping cart because she was distracted—lost in her own thoughts. Rude.

The ego creates villains + makes us the victim. The ego gains a false sense of importance through the belief that people purposely target us with all of their behaviors.

Human beings are mostly unconscious. Mostly distracted in their own mind. Mostly repeating things they themselves have been told without awareness of how it will impact another person. If we practice acceptance is this. We can navigate the world with grace. We can see other people’s behavior for what it is: a reflection of how they feel about themselves. We can choose a response in alignment with the highest self, not the knee jerk ego reaction.

Consciousness heals.

As we awaken, we can process our feelings around people’s behavior without letting it take us on an emotional roller coaster. AND, we can choose to have boundaries around behavior that’s hurtful or harmful to our emotional wellness.

Just because it isn’t about us, doesn’t mean it’s ours to carry. Or, our ours to fix

Having someone with you can be calming during a challenging situation. But even if you’re alone, you can still rely on a loved one to help you through it, research suggests. Here’s how.

A certain kind of memory can put you in control.
