Centre for Clinical Psychology, PU Organizes Mental Health Awareness Campaign from 8th to 10th October 2025
The Centre for Clinical Psychology at the University of the Punjab organized a Mental Health Awareness Campaign from 8th to 10th October. This included the installation of a series of Mental Health Awareness Camps at 10 different sites of the University of the Punjab. These camps aimed at promoting psychological well-being, reducing stigma surrounding mental health, and providing community members with access to mental health education and basic screening services. Students from the MS and ADCP programs actively participated in organizing and conducting the event as part of their community outreach and professional training initiatives. These events provided University students, staff and other general public with information about stress management, emotional regulation, and coping strategies for daily life challenges. Free psychological screening and brief counseling sessions were also offered to the visitors. The Mental Health Awareness Camps were held from 8th to 10th October from 9:00 am to 3 pm at various community centers, educational institutions, and public spaces across PU, reaching a wide range of age groups and socioeconomic backgrounds. Visitors appreciated the efforts of the Centre and highlighted the importance of such initiatives in building a more mentally healthy and informed society.
On the 9th of October, students from BS organized a program at CCP, PU۔ The program highlighted the importance of Mental Health in Youth. Students address the importance of Mental Health through their performance i.e. Drama, Poetry, Speeches and Video Mental Illness. Dr. Humaira Naz, Incharge CCP appreciated the efforts of the students, faculty and staff in organizing this event for public awareness about the importance of mental well-being in society.
On the 10th of October, a Mental Health Day Awareness walk was additionally organized. The walk began from the Centre’s main building and was led by Incharge CCP, Dr. Humaira Naz, Faculty members, students, and staff of CCP. Participants carried placards and banners with motivational messages highlighting the significance of mental health care, self-awareness, and the need to eliminate stigma around Psychological Disorders.
The event was led by Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ali, Vice Chancellor, University of the Punjab who emphasized “Mental health is as essential as physical health, and through initiatives like this walk, we aim to encourage open dialogue, raise awareness, and remind individuals that seeking help is a sign of strength, not weakness.” He acknowledged the Centre’s continued commitment to fostering mental health education, advocacy, and community outreach.
