Adding bath time to baby’s routine is something you can begin shortly after your baby is born.
Once the cord has fallen off on its own, you can begin bathing your baby by submerging their body in a shallow bath.

Here are some tips for bathing:
*Undress your baby in a warm room and place him directly in water.
*Always test the temperature of water by using elbow.
*Use one hand to support his head and other hand to place his feet. Then slowly lowering the rest of his body in the water.
*For safety reasons, most of his body and face should be above the water.

An important part of feeding a baby is burping. Burping helps to get rid of some of the air that babies tend to swallow during feeding. Not being burped often and swallowing too much air can make a baby spit up, or seem cranky or gassy.

Here are some tips so that mothers can learn how to burp their babies.

*On your lap, lay him on his stomach whilst supporting his head by your hand. Pat gently on his back by using your other hand.
*Seat him on your lap by leaning forward, supporting his head and chest with one hand. Pat gently on his back using your other hand.
*Hold him upright, resting his head upon your shoulder. Pat gently on his back using your other hand.

*Rubbing and friction
