We are providing an easy and affordable water purification method. The idea is about creating a water purifier at home, with plastic raw materials such as containers, jars & bottles. Charcoal and sand will be used in this apparatus for the cleansing process. Using natural resources will sustain the purities of healthy drinking water. It may prove very helpful for slum areas because such areas have no access to pure water. They even cannot buy filters even if they need them. So, we are going to provide a handmade purifier. The best part is that it can work without electricity or wasting any energy resources. Hikers and trekkers can also acquire great benefits from it.
Our handmade water purifier is manual; a portable filter; easily made at home in just rupees 300. Its uniqueness is its portability. We can carry it easily, regardless of the location: either desert, forest, or elsewhere.

Water is a fundamental human need. Each person on Earth requires at least 20 to 50 liters of clean, safe water a day for drinking, cooking, and only keeping themselves clean.
Polluted water isn’t just dirty—it’s deadly. Some 1.8 million people die every year of diarrheal diseases like cholera. Tens of millions of others are seriously sickened by a host of water-related ailments—many of which are easily preventable.
The United Nations considers universal access to clean water a fundamental human right and an essential step towards improving living standards worldwide. Water-poor communities are typically economically poor as well, their residents trapped in an ongoing cycle of poverty.
Education suffers when sick children miss school. Economic opportunities are routinely lost to the impacts of rampant illness and the time-consuming processes of acquiring water where it is not readily available. Children and women bear the brunt of these burdens.
Water is essential for hydration and food production—but sanitation is equally essential and complementary water use. A lack of proper sanitation services not only breeds disease; it can rob people of their basic human dignity.

The majority of the population residing in slums do not have enough to afford necessities like education and health care or even pure water to drink. Pakistan ranks 80 among 122 nations regarding drinking water quality. The main reason behind the water contamination includes human waste, lack of sewerage system, throwing garbage in the water channel, improper disposal of industrial waste, and the different use of artificial fertilizers in agriculture. According to the annual report on drinking water released by Lahore’s Water & Sanitation Agency in 2014, approximately one million people drink contaminated water in Lahore.

Lahore, a city known for its culture, cuisines, arts, festivals, and much more, is called “The Heart of Pakistan.” It is a stunning, old city with great cultural significance. But with all its significance, it’s also the second most populated city of Pakistan. Being home to almost 11 million people, it is no stranger to slums. Much of Lahore’s population resides in slum areas where they face a shortage of food, clean water, proper housing facilities, inadequate education, and various health hazards.

We aim to provide fresh and pure water to people residing in the slum areas. Water pollution is a serious health hazard especially for people who are deprived of clean drinking water. The dedicated team at Aqua Marlin has prioritized the quality and purity of water and came up with new, cheap and innovative device to purify water efficiently. As we’re aware of the people’s economical background, we’re providing them free workshop with hands on experience to be able to create their own water purification devices.
