Jazakum Allah Khair
A major cause of death due to snake bites is "fear".
Therefore, the first step is to comfort the victim and keep him mentally calm.
Important facts:
1. Not all snakes are poisonous.
2. Even poisonous snakes do not release venom every time they bite.
3. Even if venom is released, it is not necessary that it completely enters the body.
Be sure to tell the person bitten by a snake so that he does not panic and remains at peace.
Poisonous snakes found in Pakistan:
Cobra
Crate
Viper
Identification of venomous and non-venomous snake bites:
Poisonous snakes: Two clear tooth marks
Non-venomous snakes: Several small tooth marks in a semicircle
Symptoms of venomous snake bites:
Two tooth marks at the bite site
Swelling at the affected area
Difficulty opening the eyes
Difficulty breathing
Blue spots on the body
These symptoms usually start appearing within 30 minutes to 1 hour.
Treatment:
Antivenom is available in most government hospitals, even THQ and DHQ.
It is polyvalent, meaning it is effective against the venom of all common venomous snakes.
First aid:
1. Apply a soft bandage over the wound (not so tight that it stops bleeding. A finger should be able to pass through).
2. Do not move the affected limb so that the poison does not spread throughout the body.
3. Wash the wound with clean water.
4. Do not cut the wound.
5. Do not suck on the wound.
Sucking out the snake venom is a movie concept, it is impossible in reality.
6. Do not apply ice to the wound.
The most important thing:
Take the patient to the nearest hospital as soon as possible so that an injection can be given in time.
Do not waste valuable time on tips, this can be dangerous for the patient's life.
May Allah protect us from all kinds of trials and tribulations. Amen.
