Due to time constraints and other effects of a professional lifestyle, health and fitness are often made secondary to the professional’s priorities. This is most unfortunate and is detrimental to a person’s overall productivity, success, and wellbeing.

The cause and effect of exercise on improved mood and well-being involve a complex interplay of physiological, psychological, and neurochemical factors. Here are some of the key benefits of a lifestyle that includes vigorous play and exercise:

Physical activity, especially aerobic exercise, triggers the release of neurotransmitters such as endorphins, serotonin, and dopamine. Endorphins are often referred to as “feel-good” neurotransmitters because they can reduce pain perception and create a sense of euphoria. Serotonin plays a role in regulating mood, appetite, and sleep, while dopamine is associated with pleasure and reward.

Exercise can help reduce stress by lowering the levels of stress hormones like cortisol. Regular physical activity can provide an outlet for accumulated tension and promote relaxation.

Brain Health: Exercise promotes the growth of new neurons and increases connections between existing neurons. This neuroplasticity can enhance cognitive function, memory, and overall brain health, contributing to a sense of well-being.

Physical activity improves blood circulation, delivering oxygen and nutrients to the brain and other organs. This enhanced circulation can lead to improved cognitive function and an overall sense of vitality.

Participating in group exercise classes, sports, or outdoor activities can provide opportunities for social interaction and a sense of belonging, which are crucial for mental well-being.

Achieving fitness goals or simply completing a workout can boost self-esteem and self-efficacy, leading to a more positive self-perception and improved mood.

Engaging in physical activity can provide a distraction from daily stressors and negative thoughts. Most importantly, such activities can help put modern worries into proper perspective.

Regular exercise can improve sleep quality, which is closely linked to mood regulation and overall well-being. For the professional, sleep quality is essential to focus and overall productivity.

Magnesium is a necessary mineral that is needed for keeping strong bones. In the bones, where it helps to maintain and mineralize bones, the body stores around 60% of its magnesium.

Numerous studies have demonstrated that taking more magnesium can help both men’s and women’s bones.

According to research in the Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism, postmenopausal women who took magnesium supplements for six months had considerably higher spine and hip bone mineral density than those who took a placebo.

Another research indicated that males with osteoporosis who took magnesium supplements had higher bone densities.

Sometimes, it's just too tempting to hit the snooze button one more time, to push that task to tomorrow, to put off the workout for 'later.'

Three tips that can help us combat laziness and spark motivation:

1️⃣ Create a Routine: The first step is to create a routine that is flexible, enjoyable, and realistic. Include tasks that make you feel accomplished and productive, alongside those that offer relaxation and self-care.
2️⃣ Set Small, Achievable Goals: Don't aim for perfection. Break tasks down into manageable parts and tackle them one by one.
3️⃣ Stay Physically Active: Regular exercise is not just for physical health but also mental well-being. It keeps our energy levels high, improves mood, and fosters a sense of accomplishment.

And most importantly, always remember to be kind to yourself.

1. Drinking warm milk with cinnamon puts you to sleep. Unable to sleep at night? Drinking warm milk with cinnamon every night before bed will get you your much deserved beauty sleep because cinnamon works wonders in relaxing your muscles and removing tension from your body.

2. It treats cold and cough. If like me, you happen to be one of those who catches a cough and a cold way too often, then this is a drink you should be consuming every day. Cinnamon enhances the way in which antioxidants can help the body protect itself, thereby strengthening your immunity.

3. Cinnamon is great for oral care. Cinnamon has some fantastic strong anti-fungal and anti-microbial properties that kill harmful bacteria in your mouth. Thereby protecting you from those painful visits to the dentist.

4. It facilitates weight loss. One of the reasons I drink warm milk with cinnamon every night is because it facilitates weight loss. Another magical wonder of cinnamon is that it quickens your metabolism and enabling digestion faster.

5. Cinnamon mixed in warm milk is a natural pain killer. One of the most fascinating properties of cinnamon is it's ability to act as a pain killer. When cinnamon consumed with warm milk, instant relief from pain is achieved. This is because cinnamon undergoes a reaction with prostaglandin, which relaxes the muscles under stress.

6. Cinnamon's anti-inflammatory properties are a huge win! Cinnamon is also really good in fighting infections and repairing damaged tissues.

What is N.E.A.T and why is it so important?

Did you know that even if you exercise every day, but have a job or lifestyle that requires you to sit all day, your chances for injury & long term health problems greatly increase?

True fitness is not just about that 1 hr of workout, but rather about what you do throughout the day!

NEAT stands for Non-Exercise Activity Thermogenesis. These are little activities you can do during the day to induce thermogenesis over and above your workout. Thermogenesis refers to our body’s ability to burn fat, even when we are sitting and are not doing too much.

Some examples of NEAT include:

✅Walking during phone calls
✅Walking post breakfast, lunch, and dinner
✅Squat to pick up something from the floor, stretch to open a cupboard.
✅Park your car further away from a parking spot, so you can get additional steps
✅Choose to walk instead of drive, if you have to go to a place nearby
✅Take steps instead of elevator if you can
✅Stretch and fidget in between work
✅Stand up and stretch every 45 minutes
✅Chair stretches
✅Calf raises, while standing
✅Make your own bed in the morning and at night

Remember, good health doesn’t require difficult diets, expensive super foods or fancy gym equipments but rather sticking to basics with simple changes that become a part of your daily lifestyle.

Apples are known for their sweet and crisp taste, and they come in various colors, including red, green, and yellow.

Apples offer several health benefits due to their nutrient content. Here are some key health benefits associated with consuming apples:

Rich in Nutrients:
Apples are a good source of essential nutrients, including dietary fiber, vitamin C, potassium, and antioxidants. These nutrients support overall health and well-being.

Dietary Fiber:
Apples are high in dietary fiber, particularly soluble fiber called pectin. Fiber aids in healthy digestion, promotes regular bowel movements, and helps maintain a feeling of fullness, which can support weight management.

Heart Health:
The soluble fiber in apples can help lower levels of "bad" LDL cholesterol in the blood, thereby reducing the risk of heart disease. Additionally, apples contain antioxidants that support cardiovascular health by reducing inflammation and oxidative stress.

Blood Sugar Regulation:
The fiber and natural sugars in apples contribute to steady blood sugar levels. The soluble fiber helps slow down the absorption of glucose in the bloodstream, which can be beneficial for managing diabetes or preventing blood sugar spikes.

Antioxidant Power:
Apples are rich in antioxidants, such as flavonoids and polyphenols. These compounds help protect the body's cells from damage caused by free radicals, potentially reducing the risk of chronic diseases like cancer, diabetes, and neurodegenerative disorders.

Hydration and Oral Health:
Apples have a high water content, aiding in hydration. Chewing apples also stimulates saliva production, which helps maintain oral health by neutralizing bacteria and reducing the risk of tooth decay.

Weight Management:
Apples are relatively low in calories and high in fiber, making them a satisfying snack that can help control appetite and manage weight.
