It is often the end result of: • Untreated mental health struggles
• Academic and family pressure
• Fear of failure and shame
• Feeling unheard, unsupported, or replaceable

What can we do to prevent this?
• Normalize seeking psychological help on campuses
• Active mental health screening for students
• Safe reporting systems without judgment or punishment
• Training faculty to recognize warning signs
• Creating spaces where students can talk without fear
• Taking emotional pain as seriously as physical pain
