Do you know, Anxiety if not excessive is actually a healthy emotion.

There are several myths and beliefs around Anxiety. Let’s find the truth of what we should know!

❌ Anxiety is negative and something we can and need to eliminate.

✅ But the truth is, like all emotions anxiety is also adaptive that actually alerts us to potential future threat. When it isn’t excessive, it actually prompts us to take healthy action, such that studying for an exam, waking up on time for work.

❌ Panic arises out of the blue. One is actually feeling just fine, and yet the symptoms strike!

✅ However, according to research there are three component to anxiety and panic including Cognitive (thoughts of unpredictable and uncontrollable future events), physical (shallow breathing, dizziness, sweating and heart palpitations) and behavioral (restlessness, pacing and avoiding or escaping situations). Actually, anxiety is natural response towards feeling of danger and stress. When uncomfortable bodily sensations arise, we interpret them as a panic attack that further triggers other negative thoughts and a strong urge to escape or prepares for danger.

❌ One won’t be able to tolerate the anxiety and will “fall apart” unless they escape the situation or avoid it.

✅ Truth is actually promising, because even though it feels like one won’t be able to tolerate their anxiety, ONE CAN. Yesssss, it’s all that one needs to learn different techniques and practice them on a regular basis to master control over anxious feelings. It’s actually important to identify those thoughts that fuel one’s anxiety and panic because that’s how one can revise those triggering thoughts.

👉🏻 Thoughts-feelings-behaviors work together to increase anxiety. If one’s feelings, thoughts and behaviors become under control, one can break the cycle. Through learning to slow them down, one’s thoughts and emotions can no longer drive their behavior. Also, one needs to be a researcher for self. An observer who learns to experience his/her thoughts and feelings. This would help increase personal power and decrease the power a thought or feeling has over you. This way, one can consciously choose their behaviors for a better quality of life.

We’re different and so is our anxiety. 🙆🏻‍♀️

Anxiety, is presumed as mere overthinking. However, it’s far beyond that. We’re different and unique as individuals, reacting differently to different situations and so is our response to stressful situations.

👉🏻 In young individuals, physical signs of anxiety appear more commonly including headaches, stomached, nausea.
👉🏻 Anxiety makes it hard to believe in self, and be comfortable in one own’s skin. For this continuous external validation and reassurance makes it hard for one to make decisions. Also, it exhausts one and leads burnout.
👉🏻Fear of conflict, fight and judgement makes it difficult for one to present own point of view. For this reasons, despite its not a win-win situation one is always pleasing people.
👉🏻 The fight or flight state of body during stressful situations, keeps body alarmed and conscious making it hard to sleep.
👉🏻Anxiety in itself is exhausting that brings more fear of being drained. This leads to cancellation of plans and failure of commitments.

Getting to know your symptoms and anxiety can help one to focus on healing and recovery through early self-management.

Women Retreat

Mostly women have to juggle the roles of caregiver, breadwinner, and nurture and have been taught to put everyone else's needs ahead of their own. The result is a near epidemic of physical, emotional, social and spiritual fatigue. We believe that a woman doesn't have to give up her life to enrich it. Every women must learn how to reconstruct her life in a way that lets her breathe. Women Retreat is a wellness initiative, “By Women, For Women” working on five core areas including Physical, Mental, Social, Spiritual and Financial well-being through a rare combination of outdoor retreats with tailor-made personal development training.

We are first of its kind, located in Lahore and established in September 2019. We offer in-house and out-station retreats, group sessions, training workshops and community welfare seminars designed to prepare young women to become more resilient, wise and well informed so, they can approach life with realistic expectations and face challenges heads on.

We focus on helping women identify their mental barriers and fears by providing them with customized life skills set. Keeping in mind the eastern cultural perspective, we believe that women feel more comfortable to be vulnerable around other women and work on their conscious growth and renewal journey together.

Our retreats and sessions altogether provide a transformative experience, which bring women an opportunity to explore themselves and evolve into a progressive and productive self for themselves, their families and their communities.
