On 18th June 2025, Dr. Jovaria Mannan, President of the Thalassaemia Society of Pakistan, organized the weekly free medical clinic for thalassaemia patients. This regular initiative provides essential medical care, consultations, and support services to help thalassaemics manage their condition more effectively.

Death of an Artist

With deep sorrow, we announce the passing of Zumra, a brave and talented 14-year-old Thalassaemia Major patient, who has returned to her Creator.

Zumra was under the care of the Thalassaemia Day Care Center (Thalassaemia Society of Pakistan), where she received regular treatment. Despite the challenges she faced, she remained a beacon of light and creativity.

She was a gifted clay artist, known for her delicate work and her generous heart. She found joy in creating art and loved to gift her handmade pieces to those around her — a true expression of love and warmth.

Zumra's strength, talent, and kindness touched everyone at the center and beyond. Her memory will continue to inspire us, and her artistic spirit will live on in every life she brightened.

May her soul rest in eternal peace.

With deep sorrow, we mourn the passing of our dear brother Amir, who left us yesterday—a courageous warrior who fought thalassaemia with resilience and grace. His dedication to the Thalassaemia Society of Pakistan and his unwavering spirit inspired countless lives. Though he is no longer with us, his kindness and legacy will forever remain in our hearts. May Allah grant him Jannatul Firdaus and give his loved ones strength in this difficult time.

Students from the Social Work Department of Lahore College for Women University and Islamia College, Lahore, visited the Thalassaemia Day Care Center at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital (Thalassaemia Society of Pakistan), Lahore. During their visit, they engaged with the young thalassaemia patients, spreading joy and encouragement. As a gesture of kindness and support, they distributed gifts among the children, bringing smiles to their faces. The visit not only provided emotional upliftment to the children but also aimed to raise awareness about thalassaemia, the challenges faced by patients, and the importance of community involvement in supporting individuals affected by this condition.

International Pediatric Bone Marrow & Stem Cells Transplant Conference

Dr Jovaria Mannan, President Thalassaemia Society of Pakistan, Participated in International Pediatric Bone Marrow & Stem Cells Transplant Conference.
The purpose of the International Pediatric Bone Marrow & Stem Cells Transplant Conference was to bring together key stakeholders to collaborate and strengthen efforts for improving pediatric bone marrow transplantation. The main objectives of the conference include:

1. Joint Efforts for Better Transplant Outcomes
Bringing together doctors, researchers, policymakers, and organizations working on bone marrow transplants.
Strengthening partnerships between hospitals, transplant centers, and international experts.
2. Increasing Bone Marrow Donor Availability
Discussing strategies to expand donor registries, especially in regions where suitable matches are limited.
3. Advancing Research & Treatment Protocols
Sharing the latest advancements in pediatric bone marrow transplantation.
4. Making Transplants More Accessible & Affordable
Exploring ways to reduce costs and make transplants available to more children, especially in developing countries.
Engaging with government bodies, NGOs, and funding agencies to support patient treatment.
5. Awareness & Advocacy for Bone Marrow Transplants
Educating the public on the importance of bone marrow donation.
Discussing patient experiences and how to improve psychosocial support.
